presentation of the 250 EXC-F Six Days 2013
the 250 EXC-F "READY TO RACE" for the world's biggest enduro championship, the famous "International Six Days Enduro". Six days in a row, over a thousand kilometers of terrain, 40 hours in the saddle: that's not just a challenge for the rider. The 2013 KTM 250 EXC-F can be prepared with a whole range of top-of-the-range accessories for this exceptionally tough race, at the start of which, every year, half the riders bet on KTM. The 250 EXC-F Six Days: the only authentic one, with the orange frame of the factory KTM Team.
new airbox
The new airbox on the 2013 KTM 250 EXC-F Six Days offers maximum airflow with minimum dust or splash. The Twin-Air filter can be replaced in around 15 seconds, without tools. Absolutely "READY TO RACE".
valve timing
The DOHC cylinder head features four ultra-light titanium valves. Combined with rocker arms weighing just 8 g and coated with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon), they enable maximum revs of up to 12,000 rpm. Compared with the SX-F engine, the camshafts are less focused on power and more on a wide, useful and enduro-specific rpm range.
transparent plastic fuel tank
The fuel level is easy to check thanks to the transparent 9.5-liter plastic tank. The micro-filter in the fuel line sorts out the smallest particles before the injector, and is now located in the fuel line quick connector between the tank and the injection valve. It can be easily replaced. 13 l tanks are available for all models in the PowerParts range. The bayonet-type tank lid incorporates protection against unwanted unscrewing, and allows rapid opening/closing thanks to a "quarter-turn" system.
motor management
Keihin's EMS represents the ultimate. With electronic fuel injection and 42 mm throttle openings, it ensures spontaneous, powerful responsiveness and driveability. Automatic temperature and altitude compensation are also integrated. With the optional Map-Select-Switch (PowerParts), you can easily select different engine characteristics. Thanks to the User-Setting-Tool in the PowerParts program, you can individually modify and adjust the EFI mapping of the KTM 250 EXC?F Six Days via a laptop. This ensures maximum performance in every situation.
lightweight crankcase
Lighter: die-cast crankcase instead of sand! A significant reduction in wall thickness, without compromising stability. The result is a lighter engine and improved handling. A special high-strength aluminum alloy ensures maximum strength against damage.
telescopic fork
KTM Six Days models benefit from a completely new 48 mm (1.89 in) Closed Cartridge fork from WP Suspension. This new patented 4-chamber WP technology (4CS) not only offers decisive advantages in terms of response and damping consistency, but is also lighter and much easier to maintain than conventional closed cartridge models. This fork will tackle the most insane trails and obstacles with ease. A further advantage: with just a few clicks, the fork can be easily adjusted to suit the track and the rider, right at the top of the fork: compression on the left side, rebound on the right.
individual suspension adjustment
Each model has its own individual suspension setting, perfectly matched to weight and engine. at the rear, a WP Suspension PDS shock absorber with direct connection above the swingarm. The fork's wide rebound range and Highspeed and Lowspeed compression damping come as standard with KTM.
fork crown
All Six Days models benefit from one-piece milled fork crowns, finished to the highest standards. Not only do they look striking with their orange anodizing, but they are also designed to optimize the response and damping regularity of the new forks, for a final influence on the bike's overall handling.
high-quality wheels
High-quality CNC-machined hubs as standard on all KTM wheels. GIANT's new aluminum wheels, made from extremely robust 7050 aluminum, now feature the exclusive 6 Days logo. New MAXXIS FIM tires specially designed for KTM provide excellent grip, precise handling and long life.
new look
The 2013 version of the 250 EXC?F Six Days features an ergonomically slim fairing with excellent contact points between rider and machine. It offers unlimited freedom of movement. The 2013 model features new graphics in the colors of the ISDE in Germany.
handlebars
The 2013 models feature tapered handlebars made from extremely strong Neken aluminum. For the 2013 model year, new bi-component grips with KTM logo ensure excellent feel and better grip.
