presentation of the 250 EXC Six Days 2013
the 250 EXC "READY TO RACE" for the world's biggest enduro championship, the famous "International Six Days Enduro". Six days in a row, over a thousand kilometers of terrain, 40 hours in the saddle: this is not just a challenge for the rider. The 2013 KTM 250 EXC can be prepared with a whole range of top-of-the-range accessories for this exceptionally tough race, at the start of which, every year, half the riders bet on KTM. The 250 EXC Six Days: the only authentic bike with the orange frame of the factory KTM Team.
air box
The airbox on the KTM 250 EXC Six Days gives the 2013 model maximum airflow for minimum dust or splash. The Twin-Air filter can be replaced in around 15 seconds, without tools. Absolutely "READY TO RACE".
a reworked engine
The 250's 2-stroke engine boasts a new V-Force valve gearbox and a new DDS clutch. The new clutch reduces internal stresses and ensures better controllability at a lower weight (- 250 g) and greater solidity.
new DDS clutch
The new DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch: the clutch housing with timing gear is machined from a single piece of high-strength steel. The result is unbeatable reliability. It also allows the use of thinner steel plates. The result is an extremely compact design and a slimmer motor. An elastic washer enables additional hub damping - an invaluable advantage in terms of traction and gearbox durability. The Brembo hydraulic clutch and spring washer ensure easy, controllable progressiveness.
electric starter as standard
The 2013 version of the KTM 250 EXC Six Days is equipped with both a kick and an electric starter. This makes it easy to start your enduro, whatever the conditions. Thanks to the patented longitudinal mounting above the ignition, the compact starter is optimally protected, offering a decisive advantage off-road.
adjustable ignition curve
By simply plugging or unplugging a connector, you can choose between the standard ignition curve and a softer variant for the KTM 250 EXC Six Days. For even greater convenience, a switch is available via the PowerParts program.
consistent power delivery
Power to spare at low revs, with good dosage throughout the rev range. Different springs allow individual adjustment of the exhaust control. This means everyone can adapt the power of their EXC to their needs (with the option of choosing one of two ignition curves), from "soft" to "aggressive", in a matter of seconds. And the new valve gearbox on the 250 EXC Six Days clearly improves throttle response, while offering a more even deployment of power.
individual suspension adjustment
Each model features an individual suspension setting, perfectly matched to weight and engine. at the rear, a WP Suspension PDS shock absorber with direct linkage above the swingarm. A wide range of fork rebound settings, as well as Highspeed and Lowspeed compression damping, come as standard with KTM.
fork
Six Days 2013 models benefit from a completely new 48 mm Closed Cartridge fork from WP Suspension. This new patented WP 4-chamber technology (4CS) not only offers decisive advantages in terms of response and damping consistency, but is also lighter and much easier to maintain than conventional closed cartridge models. This fork will tackle the most insane trails and obstacles with ease. Another advantage: with just a few clicks, you can easily adapt the fork to the track and the rider, at the top of the fork: compression on the left side, rebound on the right.
high-quality wheels
High-quality CNC-machined hubs standard on all KTM wheels. GIANT's new aluminum wheels, made from extremely robust 7050 aluminum, now feature the exclusive 6 Days logo. New MAXXIS FIM tires specially designed for KTM provide excellent grip, precise handling and long life.
fork crown
All Six Days models feature one-piece fork crowns milled to a very high standard of finish. Not only do they look striking with their orange anodizing, but they are also designed to optimize the response and damping consistency of the new fork, for a final influence on the entire behavior of the 2013 KTM 250 EXC Six Days.
styling
The KTM 250 EXC Six Days features an ergonomically slim fairing with excellent contact points between rider and machine. It offers unlimited freedom of movement. The 2013 model features new graphics in the colors of Germany's ISDE.
