yamaha's improved sports bikes (especially for Superbike homologation) were the FZR 750 R, YZF 750 SP, YZF-R7, YZF-R1 1000 SP... Then came the R1M. Just one small letter to bring semi-active Öhlins suspension, a carbon fairing and a little more electronics. A premium hypersport, both more noble and sportier.
