presentation of the 125 Black Seven 2020
Mash has hit the nail on the head with its vintage 125s. And why stop there? The range is completed with a new age girl, capable of seducing new enthusiasts. The Black Seven is designed to appeal to more rebellious souls, with an unmistakable perfume of the English suburbs.
the little English flag on the airbox covers marks its desires. The chic elements continue the illusion. Spoked rims, tapered pot, a few touches of chrome, a metal front mudguard and a long, flared seat; all under a layer of styling that's a little more aggressive than the Seventy-Five. And, coincidentally, in the same vein as a certain Orcal Astor. The Mash has already found its direct competitor, and doesn't intend to leave the field wide open.
no inverted forks for the Black Seven, but plenty of style. With a whole black package: headlight casing, fork sleeves, protective gaiters, brake calipers, wheel straps, fork crown and fuel tank. The latter, however, attracts attention with its gold fillets and vintage cap. The bike is also softly colored in creamy white. Which makes it the 125 Brown Edition.
This Mash seems to want to emerge from the London fog, with its British face, French accent and Chinese guts. The engine doesn't mind, however, and is more concerned with meeting Euro4 standards. Delphi fuel injection gets it through. After that, it's the simple, retro Mash 125, with 1 ACT, two valves per cylinder, air cooling and 11.6 horsepower on hand. That's enough to take this 112-kilo machine for a spin. Taking it for a ride, eh? Don't ask it to get into fistfights in front of cafés on Saturday evenings.
euro4 also means mandatory ABS... or combined braking. To maintain an aggressive price, there was no question of adding an anti-lock braking system, which would inflate the price by 20%. Mash has therefore installed a coupled system, sending 70% of the power to the 3-piston front caliper with its 300 mm disc, and 30% to the 220 mm rear disc.
While the price is modest, this doesn't prevent the Black Seven from offering a number of refinements. As evidenced by the center stand, removable stainless steel pot, LED taillight, Fat Bar handlebars and dual-dial instrumentation with white background (oops, the gear indicator has disappeared...).
A motorcycle that brings the Mash 125 range up to date with the times. It's the perfect way to continue the success story without becoming pretentious.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 8 reviews
Really pretty bike (its main asset and strong point), but with a big aftertaste of cheap. I know that Mash is trying to develop the quality of production coming from China, and having bought the bike with this afterthought I thought that the problems of the early days were solved in 2019
My little experience: on a big braking job in town, one of the front brake caliper bolts literally exploded after 800km (probably due to over-tightening at the factory), fortunately no breakages or injuries, but I had the fright of my life for sure. The rear sprocket and chain were already tired at 4000Km. The neutral gear stuck very, very, very often (I hold the clutch when stopped at traffic lights)
The rear brakes are really light, if not non-existent, so it's better to plan very broadly when riding
But as this is my first motorcycle, I find it visually appealing and easy to ride, even if the gearshift gets tired with time. It's still more than enough for short rides and work (apart from the problems I've encountered, the after-sales service at my dealership was efficient) Rating : 2/5 Respond to Jean-Avis
