presentation of the 1100 CALIFORNIA 1997

affectionately nicknamed "Calif", the California is an essential piece of Moto-Guzzi history. The equivalent of theElectra Glide with that typically Italian charm. Designed to cruise to the thumping beat of its 2 huge bowls, the bike makes itself desirable by its own rules. First, there's the engine: a V2 bursting at the seams, alive and kicking. The effort of its innards betrays its age, but its behavior leaves no one unmoved. From 1994 to 1997, this first generation 1100 will be fitted with either carburetor or fuel injection. Riding is an art, and the big piston strokes sprinkle it with joviality. Comfort is there and the bike brakes well. The finish is good, although it's worth keeping an eye on certain components. The only major complaint is the gearbox, which is hopelessly slow. The Calif can go fast, but it doesn't like to. Its trick is to take you to the ends of the earth at a leisurely pace that will thrill you as much as it does. If you're curious, don't bother - the California, like many Guzzi models, is aimed at connoisseurs and enthusiasts. Its bewitching engine will quickly turn you into one of them.

happy owner of a california 95 1100 I i would like to find a gel battery smaller than the original one, can we put a less powerful battery? the reason is that the battery compartment is not easy. thank you all . momoy 86 Rating : 5/5
Very good motorcycle, sensitive and comfortable, swallows the road like a real tourer, it has nothing to envy with Harley I had 5 or other, a real nugget with a twin noise pleasant and soft. 27 years old, my calif 1100 is a sure vintage. Rating : 5/5
French Model 1997
very sturdy motorcycle used to Harleys the weight of the california is well balanced with a real pleasure to ride, less engine vibration, point of attack for the turns super nothing to say; ballade, its very robust heart is guaranteed to take us far far dand time the must of the motorcycle. And I've been riding since I was 17, I'm now 74 and still a fervent biker . longet.artistescotes.com Rating : 4/5
