Motorcycle specifications Moto-GuzziV 100 Mandello Aviazione Navale 2023 A flirtation with naval aviation
presentation of the V 100 Mandello Aviazione Navale 2023
Not even on the market (due to arrive in November 2022), the V 100 Mandello is already entitled to a special series. And a limited one at that. A thousand examples in the colors of the Italian naval air force. More precisely, inspired by the F-35B fighter jet.
Thus "militarized", the Guzzi is enriched by the name "Aviazione Navale".
The story of the brand's founders begins in the air. Parodi, Guzzi and Ravelli met in a combat squadron during the First World War. That's why many models were given bird names.
The "V100 Mandello Aviazone Navale" doesn't think of this past, but of the army of the seas. How does it do that? By its color and by the serial number laser-engraved on the plate holding the handlebars to the bridges. A countdown to 1913 - the number of motorcycles produced, identical to the year the aeronautical branch was founded. The bodywork also features white lines imitating fighter plane air intakes, a stripped-down roundel, a symbolic anchor on the front mudguard, and the "Wolves" airborne group symbol on the panels below the passenger seat.
This V100 comes with tire pressure monitoring, heated grips, a protective cover and a commemorative plate as standard.
Added to the already extensive equipment of the standard version are curve-active ABS, cruise control, traction control, various riding modes, engine brake adjustment, a 12.7 cm TFT color instrument panel, the original aerodynamic deflectors on the tank, an inverted fork, a cardan drive integrated into a new monobracket; and above all, its unprecedented engine, heralding an entirely new era for the manufacturer. A 115 hp block, still with side cylinder heads but liquid-cooled, compact size, double ACT and 4 valves per cylinder, repositioned intake and exhaust, and some 10.7 mkg of torque.
The "Mandello Aviazione Navale" was unveiled on the aircraft carrier "Cavour". Seeing a motorcycle with a golden eagle on the tank must have brought amischievous smile to the faces of the 550 sailors and Harriers housed in this 244-meter beast. The flagship of the "Marina Militare" as a backdrop for Moto-Guzzi's new dimension, it's an unusual scale and highly symbolic of the brand's future.
