presentation of the MAMMUT 2000 2000
The title alone sums up the spirit of the Mammut. What shocks, intrigues and captivates is its engine. No, even worse: the idea of using a turbocharged car engine to power a motorcycle.Hayabusa and ZX-12R fans, you'll cry. A turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder boasting a whopping 260 hp. Amazing! And with over 30 mkg of torque in the boiler, the 200 mm rear tire is in agony at the slightest nag from the Opel-Cosworth block. If only the excess stopped there...
But there's more to come: the millstone weighs no less than 354 kg, and that's dry! Imagine the work the Öhlins inverted fork has to do to guide such a monster. And to stop it? Big discs gripped by 8-piston calipers. Well, okay, now the engineers have gone off the deep end.
To monitor their creature's progress as closely as possible, they fitted it with an electronic management system (limiting the grinding wheel to 250 km/h) that can send engine data directly to the manufacturer via an Internet connection.
With figures like these, criticism of the design is almost anecdotal. However, it's clear that a courageous designer has worked on the machine's cradle, with, let's say... "personal" gestures. The bodywork has been given a great deal of attention, with a nasty mouth, an absolutely exhibitionist timing system and a crazy swinging arm. As for the transmission, it's bathed in oil. The chain (yes, it is) is imprisoned in a housing filled with this lubricant, and it's hard to imagine the stresses that must be going on in there. Like Buell and Voxan, the rear damping system is located under the bike. As for the exhaust, we've hidden it under the seat.
An exceptional machine often means a limited production run. There will only be 250 examples of this madness. I'd rather not tell you the price of a machine worthy of the greatest psychotic delusions - a bike that surely many (and I'm the first) would like to try out one day. But before you scare yourself by looking at the price tag at the bottom of this page, you should know that an MV-Agusta is ridiculous in comparison...

The Münch, already mythical in the '70s, remains a legend! Mad Max didn't have such a thoroughbred beast! Nowadays, you don't have to wriggle your ass to c.... right, you need dough and if you're going to be stuck for life, you might as well do it for this beast rather than for a sanitized machine!
