presentation of the F3 800 AGO 2015
some destinies are linked; some legends shine side by side, like twin stars. Such is the case with MV-Agusta and Giacomo Agostini. Giacomo Agostini won many victories aboard the Varese production bikes, and MV never misses an opportunity to remind us of this. As is the case with this F3 800 AGO special series. Clad in an imposing Italian color scheme, this sporty machine is even more striking.
beautiful? No, superb! The red-white-green color with a hint of gold is just right. It's reminiscent of the Tricolore edition of the 1098. MV-Agusta has also focused on a few pieces to excite the senses. How would you like to taste its die-cut aluminum footrests, carbon mudguards and delicate forged rims, which save 2 kilos in weight? For the fan, one element is even more important: the recognition of Giacomo himself. Indeed, the tank is signed Agostini, with a reminder of his 15 world titles (13 with Meccanica Verghera) overhanging it. And like all machines of pedigree and nobility, this thoroughbred sports car will only be produced in limited numbers. 300 in all, each bearing a numbered engraved plate on the upper fork crown, and supplied with a certificate of homologation.
mechanically and technically, this F3 800 is identical to the standard model. The 3-cylinder block belches out no less than 148 horsepower. Copious when you're only talking about 173 kilos dry weight. The excellent, rigid steel trellis frame bolted to aluminum plates, a 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork and fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber, large Brembo 320 mm discs married to monobloc4-piston monobloc calipers at the front and a 220 mm plus 2-piston caliper at the rear, Bosch 9MP sport ABS, a shifter, and the magic of 3 exhaust pipes. Active assistance is provided by the MVICS platform, with 8 levels of traction control, ride-by-wire grip, 4 engine maps including a fully customizable mode; on the AGO, settings are more extensive, with, for example, the possibility of adjusting the ratio between throttle rotation and throttle opening.
This special, limited edition is a beautiful, sporty jewel, and a consolation for those who couldn't get their hands on a F3 675 ORO or F4 1000 Ago. The problem is that the price climbs well over the 20,000 euro mark.
