presentation of the 1000 Brutale Oro 2019
There comes a time when you have to say stop. That's where MV-Agusta comes in. For this new-generation 1000 Brutale, the power frontier that separated hyper-roadsters from hypersportives no longer exists. The world of motorcycles is going overboard, with overflowing watts everywhere. We thought the Tuono 1100 and Superduke 1290 R had set the bar very high... too high. This Brutale laughs it up with a 208 hp mechanical extravaganza.
it's done. A roadster now develops the same potency as a big sports bike. MV had announced something big, something surprising. It's a success! The 4-cylinder block here produces 208 bhp at 13,450 rpm. A value that can easily be improved with the racing kit including the appropriate ECU and titanium exhaust. This releases 212 hp at 13,600 rpm. We're right up there with the F4 1000 RC. Let's hope the riders get a bull-neck with shoulder locks. Because a roadster this powerful and capable of over 300 km/h is not only unheard of, it's totally surreal and will slaughter arms.

o important is the exhaust system on an MV-Agusta. Ever since the F4 750 and its sublime organ pipes under the saddle, the flutes that expel stale gases have been a particularly cherished styling element. This Brutale dares to take a two-way approach.
let's step away from the technical department to appreciate the plasticity of this new chapter of the Brutale. With its double-bevelled tailpipe, Porsche 911-like optics, single-arm design and edgy aggressiveness, the first Brutale was one of the most beautiful roadsters in history. Almost 20 years later, the 1000 Brutale respects the codes of the headlamp, the athletic silhouette and the angled silencers - but this time, two pairs are present, one on each side, like a double battery of rocket launchers to protect the rear wheel and the superb matt gold monobar.
The stern is a real eye-catcher, with its welcome compactness and spaceship-like appearance. Cleverly redesigned with just the right balance of risk-taking and conservatism, this brutal 1000 is only disturbed by its strange radiator scoops. Twisted parts on an MV only happen after an over-optimistic turn. Quo vadis? In reality, function has taken precedence over design here, with the bike's winglet-like appearance providing definite support at high speed.
Always divine and virtually beyond reproach, the Brutale's design is one of envy. It's a pity that the rear center isn't more aerial, but the protuberant throttle plenum has to be hidden.
its identity lies in luxury, almost in lust. The addition of top-of-the-range parts is also a necessity, given the stratospheric performance of this extreme-naked machine. Braking is assured by Brembo Stylema calipers, inaugurated on the Ducati Panigale V4, and 320 mm discs. Damping is handled by Öhlins, with a 43 mm Nix inverted fork and TTX36 shock absorber, with electronic adjustments. Inseparable from Varese's production, the frame still combines a tubular trellis with aluminum side plates. Rigid, efficient and noteworthy, we only regret that certain parts are not in magnesium, as was the case for other Oro productions.
We can console ourselves with a dry weight of 184 kilos (less than a Speed Triple RS), a lighter lithium battery, CNC-machined parts, and the carbon the Brutale is so fond of. Particularly for its rims, which save an enormous amount of weight and provide a considerable agility bonus.

the new MV-Agusta 1000 Brutale is without doubt the most demented roadster the company has ever created... indeed, one of the most azimuthal of the entire production run - leaving aside the sometimes more powerful private and/or workshop creations built in limited numbers.
Historically, the Oro series are the first of a new generation of MV machines, with very limited distribution. The Brutale is one of these, with a planned run of 300 units, at a price that will remind you that the brand is continuing its ascent towards ever-greater exclusivity.
