the RC series, for Reparto Corse, has undeniably made its mark in the MV-Agusta range. The original F4 has become a Superbike muse, while other models take advantage of the sporty spirit to flatter the buyer.

the Dragster 800 renews its faith in the colors of the competition department. The dress fascinates and threatens with its scent of ashes and blood, enraged by the presence of an SC Project muffler. The welding work on the intermediate tube is simply superb, worthy of the best creations of the 2-stroke era.

from now on, this devil is equipped with the SCS clutch - the "Smart Clutch System". A system provided by the Rekluse gearbox to approximate the fun of a semi-automatic gearbox. Basically, it combines a centrifugal clutch with electronic management to eliminate the need to use the clutch lever. The result is faster gearshifts, quicker starts and an extra weight of just 36 grams.
Not to be confused with an automatic or robotized gearbox. Shifting gears doesn't happen by itself; you still have to use the boot and selector.

A few special parts, a racing decor and we're in the mood. This bubbling special series is based on the 800 Drasgter RR. In other words, the meanest version of the Dragster, with a 3-cylinder engine spitting out 140 hp. These guys don't want to sit back and wait for their buddies. The racing kit supplied with the bike, once fitted, saves 8 kilos and boosts power by 10 hp. At its best, it boasts an eye-catching ratio of 150 horsepower to 160 kilos! Between the Italian colors and the scent of battle, MV-Agusta no longer shows the 37 that symbolizes the brand - its number of world championship titles. A figure that hasn't changed since 1974.

To mark this special series, the manufacturer has added a few carbon parts, such as the front and rear mudguard supports, the speedo cap and the trim pieces at the base of the tank. Too bad we've lost the superb spoked wheels of the standard version, replaced by forged rims. The Marzocchi fork has lost its red anodizing, but remains fully adjustable. So is the shock absorber. For the seat, a bi-textured saddle combines leather and topstitching.

like the RR, the Dragster 800 RC is fully equipped with MVICS 2.1 electronics. It includes Ride-By-Wire, 8-level traction control, 4 riding modes working with engine management, traction control, throttle sensitivity, engine braking, torque curve, etc... Three are pre-programmed according to specific profiles (Sport, Normal, Rain) and one is completely user-configurable. The Quickshifter EAS 3.0 allows upshifting and downshifting without interrupting acceleration. More recently, the machine has been fitted with cruise control, an inertial unit, adaptive cornering lights, cornering ABS, a connected TFT screen and Launch Control. The sporty chassis is still based on a tubular steel trellis frame connected to attractive aluminum plates (optimized for rigidity), Brembo radial 4-piston brakes around 320 mm discs, a planed rear end and a large 200 m rear tire.

MV-Agusta has ennobled an entire RC family, and this 800 Dragster RR SCS is one of them. To underline the model's exclusivity, only a limited number will be produced - 200 by 2021. At a price that's hard to justify. But with an MV, who cares - it's the passion that speaks.
