A flagship model of the adventure, the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, is set to receive a range of aesthetic updates for 2025. While the mechanical features remain unchanged, the Japanese brand is introducing captivating new colors and updated graphics to enhance the visual appeal of this iconic motorcycle.
The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, what's changing:
The CRF1100L Africa Twin continues to be available in three variants: Africa Twin, Africa Twin ES, and Africa Twin Adventure Sports. All share the same 1,084 cm³ parallel-twin engine, producing 101 hp and a maximum torque of 112.6 Nm, and delivering exhilarating performance both on and off road. So, where are the main differences? The chassis and the new colors...
- Africa Twin (standard): Fully adjustable Showa suspension and 21-inch front wheel. Color options: Grand Prix Red and Matt Ballistic Black Metallic.
- Africa Twin ES: Equipped with Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (EERATM) suspension and 21-inch front wheel. Available colors: Grand Prix Red, Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, as well as the new Pearl Glare White Tricolor with all-new graphics (exclusive to this version) and black wheels.
- Africa Twin Adventure Sports: Featuring Showa EERATM suspension, a 24.8-liter fuel tank for greater range, and a 19-inch front wheel. Color options: Pearl Glare White Tricolor with gold wheels (main photo) and the new Matt Iridium Grey Metallic color with black wheels.

To recap, for 2025 Honda is introducing the new "Matt Iridium Grey Metallic" color for the Adventure Sports version (see previous preview), adding a unique touch of elegance. Other updates include new graphics for existing colors, such as Grand Prix Red and Pearl Glare White Tricolor, giving the bike a renewed, dynamic appearance.
The Africa Twin: heritage and increased popularity?
Since its reintroduction in 2016, the Africa Twin has established itself as a spearhead in the over 1,000 cm³ adventure bike category. With nearly 105,000 units sold in Europe, it has been one of the Japanese manufacturer's most popular motorcycles, to the point of being its best-selling model in 6 of the 8 calendar years from 2016 to 2023. During this period, the Africa Twin also made history by reaching a record altitude of 5,965 meters on the Nevado Ojos del Salado volcano in 2017.
So, as far as the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin 2025 is concerned, there's little doubt that its aesthetic updates and new colors continue to captivate motorcycle enthusiasts. Especially when you consider how fortunate we are to have dedicated off-road adventure centers in France, offering customers an ideal place to test the Africa Twin in its natural habitat. It remains a top choice for adventurers, offering robust performance and attractive design, true to the spirit of the legendary Africa Twin.
