The King of the Baggers is certainly one of the most surprising championships around. Just imagine: huge custom bikes with suitcases and fork heads, razor-sharp and weighing in at a mandatory minimum of 281 kilos on the scales, are going at it like Superbikes on the racetrack. It's impressive, it twists in all directions, the riders aren't here for laughs, and a world championship is going to be created in 2026.
Today, Harley-Davidson and MotoGP officially presented the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup and its complete 2026 calendar, marking the launch of the first international racing series dedicated to high-performance Harley-Davidson Bagger models. Presented at a press conference held at the iconic Red Bull Ring in Austria, the six-round series will kick off next year, launching American V-Twin-powered machines on the track at the biggest circuits in the USA and Europe.

Based on Harley-Davidson's Grand American Touring platform, the bikes entered in the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup will be extensively modified to offer more speed, agility and spectacle, allowing fans to discover a new kind of experience, a category unlike anything currently on the MotoGP calendar . Too bad Indian can't join in the festivities. The clashes between the Road Glide and the Challenger are striking in their belligerent duality.
The series kicks off in the USA, before crossing Europe and touring the world. From the hills of Mugello to the historic straights of Silverstone, the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup will showcase the exceptional performance of these American motorcycles in a thrilling six-round international championship.

The Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup marks the beginning of a new era for Harley-Davidson and for motorcycle racing," said Kolja Rebstock, Vice President, International Markets, Harley-Davidson. This series aims to push the limits of our machines, our riders and our brand on a global scale. We are proud to partner with MotoGP to achieve this goal.
Carlos Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, holder of the MotoGP rights: We are constantly looking to innovate and develop, on the track and in all our features, to further increase the reach of the sport, staying true to what fans love about MotoGP, while finding ways to reach new audiences. The Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup is the perfect answer to this challenge. It will be a tremendous asset in exciting fans during race weekends, while linking our sport to one of the most iconic lifestyle and cultural brands in North America, and the world.
This championship is a natural evolution of Harley-Davidson's involvement in competition," said Jeff Schuessler, Director of Competition Programs at Harley-Davidson. We saw what was possible with the King of the Baggers championship in the United States, and now we're bringing that same energy, performance and attitude to the international stage. More than just a race, it's an affirmation of our identity and our future in the world.
Potential teams, drivers and sponsors are now invited to join the series, as preparations accelerate for the first season in 2026.
