presentation of the Century 125 2018
The Spanish brand is looking for a revival, and could well relaunch itself with a new 125 cm3 power duo. The Strada for riding, the Century for showing off. We're interested in the latter, with its mischievous, roving scrambler side. With standing, as if the combination of studded tires and precious silhouette encouraged you to take to the woods with Westons.
doesn't that silhouette remind you of anything? Keep your eye on the Mediterranean, forget Spain and turn your gaze towards Italy. You'll see FB Mondial, you'll dig into the 125 aisle, and bang, you'll come across the Century's false twin, which is none other than the Hipster.
In fact, the Rieju takes a lot of elements from it, including the 15 hp 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, tubular steel frame, 40 mm upside-down forks, spoked rims, wave brake discs and footpegs. But a real effort has been made on the look, so that everyone hunts on their own turf. A more vintage tank, some metal parts swapped for plastic, higher handlebars, an engine cowling more concerned with functionality than looks lower exhausts and fewer flashy elements make this a more discreet machine, but not without charm. This is reflected in the price, with the 125 Catalane priced at 10% less.

the Century 125 is presented as a descendant of the Rieju 175 of the '50s. Above all, it will be seen as a snarky little machine, which has clearly understood that there's no point in provoking the KTM 125 Duke or Yamaha MT-125 (to name but a few) too closely. No, asserting a difference and playing it trendy will be more judicious than looking for a fight. What's more, it has a sibling who has already paved the way, so to speak. The Spaniard plays it up a bit, while theItalian is a tad more chic. The two go out at night, one to the ball, the other to the disco... only to end up in the same state and under the same kind of arm at the end.
