presentation of the Interceptor 650 Lightning Edition 2023
The 650 Interceptor is one of the most equivocal models in the Royal-Enfield range. Classic and a little bourgeois, Indian in body and English in memory, this roadster is also equipped with the manufacturer's biggest engine.
To boost sales and raise its profile, a better-equipped Lightning Edition is now available. The Interceptor gains a whole host of parts to make it a more versatile, yet equally stuffy, companion on the road.
On offer are a pair of soft panniers and their holders, an aluminum shoe and a pair of mild steel crash bars to protect the twin, a smoked windscreen, more stylish machined mirrors, a double touring seat and an aluminum fuel filler cap.
You've got to admit, the Royal-Enfield doesn't lack poise with this kit. It will also charm you with its 648 cm3 engine. A fine engine, not very powerful for its displacement, but just under the A2 ceiling and a purveyor of classic sensations. Okay, for almost the same price, you can have an MT-07 Pure, a CB 500 X or a Z 650. But the chic is not at all the same.
The Interceptor 650 Lightning Edition is priced at 7390 euros, the same as the standard model. A fine gesture on the part of the manufacturer, bearing in mind that it comes with over 1,200 euros worth of accessories. The Continental GT cousin has a similar edition, called Thunder.
