presentation of the GSX 1400 YOSHIMURA 2005
big torque is your thing. Perfect, the GSX 1400 is bursting with it. For 2005, Suzuki has revamped it a little, especially the exhaust: a single, longer and lighter muffler replaces the 2 elements in the standard version, and Suzuki offers this Yoshimura version as a bonus. This Japanese manufacturer produces high-quality exhausts, complete lines and competition parts.
The GSX 1400 is equipped with a tri-oval muffler with mini weight. New fuel injection mapping and a lower overall weight make this generous roadster even more muscular. Now you'll get the big watts and the sound that goes with them... Provided you handle a few hand tools. The tube in its legal configuration vocalizes without much conviction. Well...! All you have to do (but then the exhaust is no longer approved) is remove, or rather drift, the Yosh's little outlet to enjoy a much nicer sound. In every sense of the word, a big roadster always sounds better.
testing the 1400 GSX :
faithful to air and oil cooling, the imposing 4-cylinder, fuel-injected engine is housed in a classic tubular frame anchored by excellent suspension. With the GSX, you'll feel an irresistible urge to ride over hill and dale. The soul of this bike, its engine, is a perpetual invitation to give yourself an adrenalin rush. A simple twist of the right hand and the thrust rips through your arms. With its unbelievable torque, the big block has more than enough response. To make matters worse, it doesn't know bad manners. The power is really striking, but it doesn't overwhelm you, and is voluptuous in its demonstrations of force. The slightest village crossing is an excuse to play with the engine's elasticity. Set at the authorized speed and revving close to an Olympian calm, the mill lulls you into a deep purr - a bit like a big, quiet cat sure of its strength.
As you leave the town, all you have to do is turn the handle a little, and you'll leap smoothly to cruising speed. When driving, this roadster fears no one. The power allows you to play with anything, the precise gearbox locks up without a hitch, and it's a pure pleasure to spend hours on the GSX's wide saddle. Without a doubt, it's one of the most comfortable in existence. With its smooth controls, natural, upright riding position and low seat height, the Suzuki is a real contender. On the attack, this big roadster can't hide its weight or ground clearance. Sufficient in most situations, it proves too tight when you're whipping around the 1400, so it's better to adopt a more relaxed riding style that's no less effective.
With its excellent comfort and impressive power, the GSX 1400 is the benchmark in its segment. The smoothness of its engine and the softness of its seat are unforgettable.

TOP TORQUE FOR THOSE WHO LIKE IT, AND THE SOUND OF THE YOSH IS REALLY NICE, SO YOU CAN GO A LONG WAY WITHOUT GETTING TOO TIRED, E.G. 600 KM IN A DAY. OVERTAKING IS A DELIGHT
THE LIMITS OF THIS BIG HEART ARE THE TWISTS AND TURNS THAT FOLLOW ONE ANOTHER, AND THE LIMIT IS REACHED IN SPORTY DRIVING: THE SUSTAINED LEFT-RIGHT ROCKING IS TIRING, BUT IT'S POSSIBLE TO DRIVE IT MORE SMOOTHLY, GIVEN ITS WEIGHT, AND STILL HAVE FUN..
ROCK-SOLID RELIABILITY, NEVER A BREAKDOWN, JUST ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. REASONABLE FUEL CONSUMPTION BELOW 200 KM/H, BUT ABOVE THAT I'VE NEVER HAD THE TIME TO REACH ITS LIMITS, IT'S SO POWERFUL....A MUST BE PUT IN THE HANDS OF A WISE MAN. Rating : 5/5 Respond to JCBONE
I just bought a 1400 gsx from 2006 with 52000 km it runs perfectly but I have the impression that the second syncro is tired it is very hard and cracks when I want to shift to low rpm is this normal
Rating : 5/5 Respond to schreck1957
bonne saison a tous Rating : 5/5 Respond to joe bar te
yes, it's the best in terms of torque, so in terms of acceleration, but this bike has several shortcomings
- excessive heat in the knees in summer (you get burnt!)
- fuel consumption is a bit high (normal, as 1400 cm3 is too much)
- rear tire wears out quickly (around 6000 max)
- short 1st gear and lack of extension in the revs (it's all about torque)
On the other hand, if you've understood all that, making it spit on torque is a treat, even for a sports bike enthusiast who'll find another way of expressing himself "all the way down" instead of very high up in the revs
Great engine, superb bike, honest price: all good things from Suzuki!
GGGAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZ!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to cbrrunner
for protection, I put on a wind jump and at 5000 rpm at 170km/h the helmet doesn't go up yet, but the arms are starting to stretch
This Cocotte is really great...
Bonne route à tous et prudence

it's really beautiful !!!!! with the yosh output... for the moment I have a bandit 12S which has been running like an Olive for 2 months because it doesn't like the cold or the rain (a shame in winter) and the worst thing is that suzuki can't do anything about it.......................
So no more carburetors and hello injection!!!
I'll tell you more next week about the virulent torque toy
Bonne route à tous. Rating : 5/5 Respond to gégé91
