presentation of the DR-Z 400 SM 2005
supermotard fans, rejoice! The major manufacturers have heard you, and are now offering machines to let off steam. Based on the DR-Z 400 S, this SM version will enable young riders to appreciate the fun and sporty side of these turbulent bikes. A good trail bike is formidable in the mountains. And with 17-inch wheels fitted with sport tires, an inverted fork with multiple settings and a healthy single, enthusiasts are in for a treat. The front brake disc has grown enormously and will have no trouble stopping this machine, which is barely heavier than a 125. The SM will certainly cross swords (on the market, not on the track) with a certain Yamaha XT 660 X, heir to the same concept. The Suzuki will certainly be offered at a much more attractive price. It's clear that the supermot' is giving ideas to many people.
has the Marquis de Sade decided to dress in yellow? It would seem so, as the 400 SM borrows some of his mannerisms, which are not to our displeasure. Does his mill wield a whip or velvet? In any case, it knows how to show its sympathy and preserve its vibrations. At low revs, it's easy on the voice. Then it surprises you with its suppleness. When you meet it, the DR-Z 400 SM has all the hallmarks of a gentleman's bike: a welcoming seat, road-smoothing suspension, a standard riding position and a pleasant set of controls... The Suzuki is very urban.
When the game starts, the DR-Z SM reveals its charms, which immediately incite you to let loose, even to play the fool. Its cross-country size and weight, combined with narrow tires, make it a machine for twirling from corner to corner.

"I've got to show it to my friends! It's true that a sporty machine like this is very exhilarating. But the mates are going to start taking the piss out of the DR. "It's only a 400 cm3... It doesn't even have a trunk or a rev counter... The location of the Neiman is a pain... Do you have a stepladder to stand on?..." Here's a handful of noodles who just don't get it. You can't lend them something this fun to make them understand: they'd never let it go.

never a breakdown, never a problem, reliable and sturdy, a fun, playful bike that loves wheeling.
the sound with a pot other than the original is superb. Rating : 5/5 Respond to killer-kill
I started motorcycling at 14 with an old Honda MTX50. Then I took my 125 license at 16 to acquire a sporty 125 Honda NSR (the best 125 sport). I've been an enthusiast since I was a kid, and now I'm 19, with my big cube license in my pocket, I wanted to switch back to a cross-type motorcycle because it's very playful, and I love big monos. I didn't hesitate for a single second to pick up the DRZ400SM. An exellent bike, a smooth engine in all circumstances (the 5th one can go from 60km/h to 160km/h). No complaints. It lifts without a problem at red lights, although I sometimes scare myself at 55kg ^^ . It's very light, easy to handle and very stable (I often skid when downshifting, but nothing to worry about). Suitable for both leisurely and sporty use, this bike is exceptional. It's suitable for beginners and experienced riders alike, and with a little preparation, it's close to 48 hp (power bench test). I've got an Akrapovic line mounted on it, and the noise is simply magnificent. The lighting is very good. I wouldn't sell it for the world! (just like my NSR 125 ^^). I'd recommend it without a problem, the only downside is that after 20 minutes on the freeway, you start to get bored... But it's not made for the highway anyway. Also, the neiman is a bit of a pain, but you have to get the hang of it ^^. Very good bike, which surprises me from Suzuki by the way hehe ^^
Ciao and bon route! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Motardpassioné
I've never had so much fun on a bike, a real velo. The front end is very light and the bike is very playful
Don't be afraid of its 400 small cm3, because it keeps up with the sportbikes on small roads!
A great bike that I recommend whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider! Rating : 5/5 Respond to jehooty

If this definition of a fun bike suits you, go for it, because it's no longer available from dealerships! A handful of very well-priced used 2007 and 2006 models are still available in France

In short, it's going to heat up at red lights and skid around the little bends in my native Normandy, in the ducoté of Rouen
For the record, it's scheduled for February 22 according to my concess', so let's warm up before letting the beast howl...
