presentation of the SV 650 Scrambler 2.0 2019
When the wave of neo-retro, trendy machines and "Wheel & Waves" power swept through the motorcycle sector, Suzuki didn't rush in. Instead, he delegated the mission of riding the wave to his mutinous roadster. When the SV 650 "Scrambler" was launched, it claimed to open up a number of less-travelled roads for the machine to dip its treads into.
In this 2.0 version, the bike has swapped certain elements to refine its identity. Suz has done away with the LED indicators, the pierced exhaust cover and the minimalist license plate holder. As for the additions, we're much more inclined towards the other side of the scale. With the addition of SW-Motech handguards and a duo of soft side panniers with quick-release (no tools required) fastening systems on their fixed brackets - they feature waterproof protective covers. Not quite what you need to go frolicking in the dirt, but this second-generation SV Scrambler certainly looks better than the first. However, the name wouldn't forgive the absence of a raised pot, spoked rims, suspension work and a few weeds pulled up here and there. The price tag would have been a lot drier...
All in all, the Scrambler package contains a fairly extensive list of items:
- dual-tone Bagster saddle
- dunlop Mutant tires
- large-diameter matte-black bridge and handlebar set
- aluminum windscreen
- headlight protection grille
- aluminum radiator scoops
- minimalist aluminum front fender
- aluminum chain guard
- enduro footrests with removable rubber pads
- openwork gearbox output sprocket housing
- a set of handguards
- two soft cases
- case holders
now that's something to show off. On a day-to-day basis, this mock-scrambler will let its owner benefit from the twin's joviality, ease of riding and good humor. The expressive work can create a sensation in front of the audience, while limiting itself to an illusion in the face of more conquering trails. As long as there's dirt and dust, it's all right - the limit won't come from the tires, effective in off-road escapades, but from the bike's design itself, not really adapted. Don't forget that this Scrambler is first and foremost an SV with pavement tires.
