The Suzuki 1000 Katana takes a closer look at its past in this 7584 livery. It's not a special series, but a one-off, dedicated to the promotion of the production model and to fond memories of its origins.

The Katana was a visual shock when it came out. In 1981, Suzuki made its mark on minds and designers. A 750 version with retractable headlight was released in 1984 (inspired by the ED-2 project) and put the machine back in the spotlight. The contraction of these two numbers gave birth to the identity of this demo.

The public discovered it at the Motor Bike Expo 2020 in Verona, Italy. Let's see, let's observe, let's observe. Suzuki has not upgraded its vintage roadster, concentrating instead on customization. The 7584 sports a new, more matte gray, topped with colored stripes. Blue is a Suzuki staple, while yellow recalls the color of the frame, crankcases, wheels and head cover of the era. To clean up the sides, the air intakes on the side panels have disappeared.
That's half the story. Finishing it off, we catch a glimpse of the Yoshimura R-11 exhaust, a carbon front fender and a two-tone red/black seat.

The Katana wants to be noticed. It's all about cosmetics, because it's completely confident in its technical aspects, which are closely derived from the 1000 GSX-S. Suz doesn't touch it, leaving it to everyone to enjoy the machine's 150 horsepower. A little more sound and symbolism with this 7584, but only for shows.

Yo Rider Model 2020

After driving it 11,000 km (delivered in Sept 2020), I have to say that its only fault, in my eyes, is its ridiculous fuel tank, and that as a result, on heavy-duty days (over 300km), it's a bit annoying to have to stop at the pump...
