presentation of the 1000 Katana S 2020
Suzuki has chosen its own way into the neo-retro world with the Katana. Closely derived from the 1000 GSX-S, it revives one of the company's most distinctive models. With its 4-cylinder engine borrowed from an older-generation GSX-R 1000, it can become very unwise and unleash its rider. This is a statement that the S version aims to make.
There's no need to rush your thirst for sport or over-activate your excitement. The Katana S doesn't get more radical - no suspension upgrades or reworked engine. It's all about personalization, with a host of accessories. Just like the Jindachi version on the Italian market.
On the Suz, the windscreen is a little more generous than the original. It doesn't take its place, but is grafted on top. Protectors secure the fuel tank, then the identity is reinforced with a two-tone black and red seat and stickers projecting from the sides of the fork head.
We've saved the best for last: an Akrapovic exhaust system built from titanium and carbon. In addition to the more present sound it produces, it brings a gain of almost 3 horsepower and 2.2 Nm. A saving of 1.1 kilos. This Katana S can go and calm people down with its more than 150hp cavalry, its sporty chassis and its look straight out of the 80s. Pricing is 500 euros higher than the standard 1000 Katana, but Suzuki claims a customer benefit of 900 euros.

You have to go deep into the rev range to get the 150 horsepower to spit.
Significant vibrations around 6,500/7,000 rpm discouraged me from staying in this engine range, and I couldn't try beyond 7,000 rpm. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Domi2487
