presentation of the Speed Triple 1200 RR 2024
First a breath, light and carefree, slipping behind the spokes of a rim. It plunges into the sunlight of the fork tubes, slides over the metal and emerges burning from the Brembo Stylema calipers. His momentum carries him towards the carbon shards, and then he escapes. For a moment, the RR logogram intercepts him, before he moves far enough away to catch a glimpse of the silhouette of Triumph's ultimate cafra: the Speed Triple 1200 RR.
So , you might say that the Speed Triple RS has been fitted with the optional Thruxton forkhead, and that's that... Let's lighten up! That's how it was done in the heyday of Ace Café. When enthusiasts of mechanics and speed created their steeds in the back of the garage, between a cigarette and some bolts. Today, the gestation process takes place in engineering offices and factories. Hence the RR's more accomplished and specific design.
The half fairing is the RR's own, not that of any of its cousins. Only the headlamp, with its characteristic LED daytime signature, has been taken from the modern-classic category, and several openings have been cut around it. With this cap, the Speed plays up its style and offers a little protection. Although that's the least of its concerns.
A NineT Racer in English sauce? Only bloodier, more efficient and much more powerful.
The aim of the RR is to bring the RS's deep-rooted riding lust to a climax. The best way to achieve this is to reverse the rider into a position more suited to arsouiller. Sacrificing the handlebars for a pair of bracelets fixed under the upper tee allows the torso and arms to be tilted directly to the attack. The controls are 50 mm further forward and 135 mm lower. The footrests are moved back, while the saddle retains its 830 mm height. The body pivots around it to bring emotion to the heart of the sensation. Comfort escapes in favor of the rigor of the front end.

You can abuse the brakes, their efficiency and feel. The whole Brembo package is designed to offer bite, master cylinder and lever adjustments, and visor-peeling efficiency.
The Speed Triple roadster is equipped with high-quality suspension. Highly efficient Öhlins. The Cafra wants to go further. That's why its suspensions come from the same manufacturer, with the added bonus of the Smart EC 2.0 system. In other words, the semi-active, electronically-adjustable system. Everything is configured from the cockpit. You can either let the control unit manage the suspension in real time, or set your own parameters to suit the many possibilities on offer.
Don 't confuse it with a Daytona. The 1200 RR isn't looking for competition or confrontation with hypersports. Just a gentleman's game of fire, as the 180 horsepower of the 1160 cm3 three-cylinder rumbles beneath the suit. A ferocious charge, supported by 5 driving modes (Road - Rain - Sport - Circuit - Rider), the last of which is configurable. Between mechanics and electronics, the Speed Triple receives all the manufacturer's most incisive and efficient features: angle-sensitive traction control, Up&Down shifter, assisted clutch with anti-dribble, cornering ABS, inertial unit, torque control (12.9 mkg max), and wheeling control.

The RR emphasizes its high-end character with carbon parts. As if it wanted to become a gateway to the TFC range. These parts are the side covers under the fuel tank, the radiator scoops, the front mudguard and the deflector panels under the fork head. Although we don't ask the ladies how much they weigh, it's worth mentioning that this R weighs a kilo more. Negligible.
Big deal , this Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR is no laughing matter. The scent or the swirling eyes around this sporty machine can't help but admire the lady. The fiery lady. The combination of streetfighter with a hint of neo-retro gives this bike a striking cachet. The British brand is making its mark in the sport segment, but without going the way of the Superbike monsters. It's not really a replacement for the 955 Daytona, nor is it an MV-Agusta Superveloce-style reinterpretation. This is a story of nobility and rank.

The finish is also remarkable, with carbon (even inside the front fairing), a single-sided arm, beautiful rims, all the electronic aids, a fuel gauge (handy), cruise control (useful for taking the strain off the right wrist). In short, I'm hard pressed to find any faults apart from the position, which is a little awkward. If you've got the budget and you're in good shape... go for it! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Elise111
