presentation of the 660 Trident 2025

With the release of the 660 Trident, Triumph entered the world of entry-level roadsters, a strategic bridge between motorcycle schools and mid-size models. A fine gamble, supported by a pleasant, cosseting silhouette, the only 3-cylinder engine in the category, well above-average power and appreciable qualities.

well-born , healthy, efficient and full of dynamism, the British bike's main pitfalls were its long-established rivals, including an incredibly well-placed 750 Hornet, and an unexpected rival, its own 750 Street Triple cousin. After 4 years of loyal service, the Trident passes the baton, not to a new generation, but to a few welcome adjustments.

the colors change... and that's all. From one bolt to the next, the new Trident is identical to theold Trident. The new Trident is the same as the old Trident from bolt to bolt. It's on the suspension side that Triumph tinkers. The 41 mm Showa inverted fork (SFF type) has been upgraded to a large-piston model (SFF-BP), for greater progressiveness and stability.

Triumph 660 Trident 2025 - 1Triumph 660 Trident 2025 - 1

The following chassis hardware remains identical to that of the Trident2021-2024, i.e. a simple tubular steel perimeter frame, a Showa shock absorber with preload adjustment, 310 mm brake discs with Nissin 2-piston calipers (the hardware brakes well) and 255 mm at the rear with 1 piston in the shoe.

a little tweaking for the front end, okay. But what next? The Trident has concentrated its efforts on electronics. It's not just pretending, it's going all out. The first step is the installation of an inertial unit. Its dynamic data flow makes ABS and traction control sensitive to the angle taken by the bike. That's the first point.
Secondly, the shifter is now standard. This immediately brings us to the arrival of a "Sport" riding mode in addition to the two others (Rain and Road) already present on yesterday's Trident. Fourth point and addition: cruise control. It's a feature you'd expect to find on a trail-roader or a GT, but let's not be too picky about this little gift. Last but not least, the installation of a Bluetooth connectivity model for Smartphone pairing. So you can enjoy music and call control, as well as turn-by-turn GPS navigation. However, there's still no USB socket on board.

one of Triumph's key features, its engine, delivers the same performance. This 81 hp, 6.6 mkg 3-cylinder engine is a great success, with 90% of its power available between 3,600 rpm and 9,750 rpm. Pleasant, with good thrust, a little linear but not lazy when it comes to approaching the red zone, the block has given the Trident everything it needs since its inception to have fun. Without being overwhelmed or feeling like you're missing out; for the category.
With the Daytona 660 not far behind and far more watts, the roadster might have been tempted to steal a few. But no, each to his own herd, each to his own philosophy.
Triumph 660 Trident 2025 triumph seems intent on showing conquering sympathy with the Trident. The astonishment (and contentment) was obvious when the better-equipped Tribute version arrived in early 2024 for the same price as the standard version. The bonus is the same with the 2025 evolution of the Trident: options now standard, refined electronics, revised damping, and higher-quality parts (a new upper tee and forged aluminum brake pedal) without a price increase. However, it costs almost 1,000 euros at list price (the factory will bear a very different cost).

the Triumph 660 Trident is still A2-compatible and will arrive in its network in December 2024. In terms of price/equipment, it's at the top of the segment, as is its finish. It's high time for some of its rivals to reconsider.

It is very pretty why not make one in 900 or 1000 cm2 with 110 hp and 10nm torque would be nice to try Rating : 4/5
French Paulo Model 2021
I haven't had it very long. I don't have a lot of motorcycle experience, but I'm seduced by the engine, its sound and the power it delivers at low revs. I'd like to mention a few shortcomings: - problems at low revs around 2,000 rpm, when you're on the throttle, it churns... it's not new... I hope it's nothing. - the turning radius isn't great. Very happy with this purchase. Rating : 4/5
New owner of a Trident 2023 at after having ridden heavier and more powerful bikes, including a CB 1100 for the previous one, the "little" Triumph is a real pleasure to ride, light, easy to handle, superb lines, fine finish overall and with enough torque to enjoy. A few shortcomings, however.
The most annoying are the gaps in acceleration and the engine jerks on the first 3 gears between 1000 and 3000 rpm, when running on a trickle of gas, especially when cold. Perhaps due to a problem with the mapping or the ride-by-wire system (electronically controlled throttle), in any case it spoils the pleasure a little. To be seen with the dealer at my 1st service which is approaching...
Comfort, too, needs to be reviewed: ultra-firm seat and a rear shock that feels like a piece of wood on rough roads, which is now commonplace on our roads and streets...

I tried the Trident just after the Suzuki GSXS 950 ...well my choice quickly fell on the 3-cylinder, the test model had the shifter .... a treat.order placed at the end of 2021 I received it in March 2022 .daily a pleasure for an A2.comfort is there, even after 1 hour on the road, braking is certainly biting, but you have to be careful because you can quickly be surprised. on the aesthetic side, I've fitted a rizoma bubble to great effect. to date, I'm very happy with it. ✌️ Rating : 5/5

Super bike; I've ridden everything in my life; but the next one will surely be this one. I like it a lot and it's with medium-displacement bikes that you get the most pleasure. Light, easy to handle, not too high, high performance; it's perfect. As for the price; in Strasbourg it's more like 8375 Eu +290 EU for start-up +181.76 Eu for registration, so it's more like 8846.76 Eu, a must-have !!!!without any optoon! Rating : 5/5
French chris Model 2021
I've had it for two weeks, great bike, but after my Street Twin I was surprised by the power of the brakes. Bang on the floor when I stopped a little late at a give way sign ... Otherwise, two faults for me: the shifter is badly placed and too short, and the brake pedal is too short, forcing you to put your foot too far to the left, which also caused the bang on the floor. Apart from that, really good. Rating : 4/5

French TomBike Model 2021
As a young A2 licensee, I fell for the Trident, which was well positioned in relation to the competition, between an
between an MT 07 and a CB650R. Acquired in April 2021, it's a pleasant bike to ride, light and easy to position, with good ergonomics and one of the best speedometers in the mid-size category, easy to read with all the information you need
Correct finish, comfortable saddle +/- 2h to start feeling discomfort. Good feedback from the passenger over 30-40min
Fuel consumption between 4.5L/100km and 4.9L/100km
After 1,500km, the only negative points were a slightly soft fork, a brake pedal that's a bit too cheap and a reserve that comes on too soon after 200km, regardless of the riding style
The main positive point is the engine, which is responsible for my purchase ^^. The 3-cylinder is just great, in 3 words: long, torquey, smooth, a real treat!

I'm one of the lucky ones, having been delivered very quickly (dealer's stock order) and fallen in love with the 3-cylinder......... and am enjoying it on our mountain roads around Grenoble. I fitted a Shock Factory shock absorber to improve comfort, a real treat. My only regret is that I don't yet have a choice of windscreen! Triumph Grenoble offers a warm welcome. Thanks to Bernard. To try it is to adopt it. Rating : 5/5
French Dennis Model 2021
Test drive in a dealership and I fell in love with it, I think I'll take it. The engine responds very well, it goes into corners without a hitch, and is very, very easy to ride. My passenger was delighted, very comfortable in the back despite the short seat, more comfortable than on the CBR 650 or the SV and obviously more comfortable than on my Ninja 400. Still, riding the Ninja is a bit more fun. But I'll make concessions for my passenger. Rating : 5/5

French antot Model 2021
Super happy with this bike

Concerning the tank capacity, there seems to be an error in your file. The owner's manual (available on the Triumph website) quotes 17.4 liters in the "specifications" section on page 152 (exactly the same capacity as the street triple)

I take it easy and after 1000 km, I'm at around 4.5l/100 km.

I fell in love with it the first time I took it for a test ride, and bought it outright. Very fun to ride, you feel confident (too much so?). i've had an A licence for 36 years, and I've ridden all kinds of machines, but I have to admit I'm really enjoying this one. The 3-cylinder is pure joy, with a great sound
The plate and mudguard on the wheel and the hoses between the forks could have been better integrated
Why not have the same model in 900 in 2022?
Rating : 5/5
French Dingo Model 2021
It's a laudable intention on Triumph's part to offer an entry-level model that's just a little accessible, as the price remains very high for a model with fairly average performance
If the aim had been to produce a wiser machine than a Street, then it would still have been possible to produce 81 bhp from a 3-cylinder with 100 cc less, with torque still available at average revs
And the bill would have been a little lighter, because 8,000 euros is a lot to pay for a machine that's simply fun!
Rating : 3/5
French Jeff2A Model 2021
Apart from the rather high price for the category, it's a real success!
The lines are original, with an aggressive neo-retro feel that's very XSR-like!
Nothing to do with the rather banal lines of the Z, CBF, SV and MT07.
On the other hand, this fashion of putting the license plate on the rear wheel, well, not great
But 81 HP for 189 kg is a very good power-to-weight ratio for the category, much better than that of the competition, and with the guaranteed balance of a Triumph chassis, you can have fun without getting scared at every turn!
Rating : 4/5
As for the increase, the concess confirmed that he had indeed raised the price voluntarily, as all the other brands had done the same
Initially set at €8000 when the press announcements were made, this price was only available for pre-orders for a short time.
So yes, the price has been updated to 8250€, identical to the cb650r 2021.
