presentation of the 900 TROPHY 2001

let's not mince words: the 2nd generation Triumph Trophy is one of the most beautiful GTs ever built. More than just the Triumph hallmark, it reveals all the English charm found on big names like Aston Martin and Jaguar. You can enjoy it in 2 ways: 1200 cm3 with a 4-leg or 900 with an exhilarating 3-cylinder engine. With the exception of the mechanics, these are strictly 2 identical motorcycles. You'll find the same luxurious equipment, excellent comfort and protection, and top-notch handling. It's not really the price difference that will tip the balance. It's the ability and behavior of the British engines that will guide the choice. Because of its displacement, the 900 can't offer the same breath of fresh air as its big brother. While pleasant and lively, it's unfortunately not enough to make up for the 3-cylinder's lack of power and trunk space - it's just not enough to carry such an imposing motorcycle. But the lighter weight of this little Trophy makes it more fun and easier to ride when the road gets a little twisty. All the more so as its agility is among the most convincing in this segment of road bikes. If you're planning long motorway journeys with passenger and luggage, opt for the 1200 and its more generous muscle.

Routière de haut vol malgré son âge
French Olivier A. Model 2000
T3 900 version bought 13 years ago and used for WE escapades and Duo trips. I have another bike for work and daily use. CT virgin at 71000kms.

the plusses: - Top protection in the rain and on the freeway - Intoxicating engine, very smooth (50km/h in 6th gear) and very long from 6000rpm - Very playful on small roads (especially if you master countersteering well) - The panniers are narrower than the mirrors, so traffic between lanes is no problem and helmets can be stowed - XXL comfort, especially for the passenger (with a padded top-case) - For the rider, the handlebars are a bit too wide.
- Fuel consumption of 5.5l on the road and 6.5l on the freeway, giving a range of 350kms before reserves. The -s: - Maneuvering at low speed (and I'm 1.92m tall) - High weight of 260kg (without passenger) - Sensitive front tire pressure - Slightly over-inflated to avoid the truck effect.
- carburettor adjustment (you need a good mechanic, which is my case) otherwise difficult starting, holes on acceleration... - Fragile plastic fuel tap control (broken on the side of the road, impossible to switch to reserve). Replaced by an Alu version.

French Domlemans Model 2000
After various Japanese models (500 CX, 500 SR, 600 XLM, 850 TDM, 750 and 800 VFR) I switched to the English triple with a 900 Sprint Sport. 10 years of happiness, resold with 130,000 km and still going strong for a 2000 1200 Trophy. After a broken cylinder head gasket, I switched to a 2000 900 Trophy.
69000 KM, in near-new condition
Since then, I've been riding with a permanent smile on my face
Comfort, torque, looks, ridiculous fuel consumption of 5.5l/100
In short, everything runs smoothly
The only thing missing is a cardan shaft to prevent chain tension (not very annoying...).

Hello

I've had this bike for 2 years now, and I'm very happy with it: great comfort, very good protection, average cons 6.5
The only fault is that the side stand is too short, so I have to put it on the center stand every time. I would like to know if there is a solution to this problem?

thanks

French Charlie Model 1996
Super bike after many models, comfortable and low fuel consumption 350 km with a full tank 100000km on the odometer major overhaul at 87000 and periodic oil change followed Ras only happiness .timeless aesthetics. Rating : 5/5

114,000 kms so far, travelling from the Czech Republic to Slovakia, then the North Cape via Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden, and this year Switzerland and Austria. What a pleasure, the purse is asked for 6 euros a day, after calculating "maintenance, insurance and petrol". No glitches, periodic tire and brake wear, 1 front disc change, 1 shock absorber change, 3 chain kits (using a grease gun). In short, in addition to the English aesthetic, a pleasant tourer that doesn't ruin its driver. Rating : 5/5
