presentation of the 660 STREET TRIPLE S A2 2018

The Triumph 675 Street Triple came to the mid-size roadster clan as a conqueror. Its engine slapped established codes in the face, and its Speed Triple design made it the envy of all. Now, boasting a superior engine and enhanced sportiness, the "big" Street no longer needs to conquer; it wants to win, by whipping up the road.

The judge of asphalt, however, is not monopolized by experienced or old-fashioned bikers. The A2 license requires sacrifice, or adaptation. For men and machines alike. The Street Triple is available in a special version, suitable for the 35 KW license.
The engine here develops 95 hp, the maximum permitted by law. So, as with most bikes, you set a special mapping, ride for as long as you need, and then you're back to a normal S ? Well, not at all.
The Street Triple A2 doesn't have the 765 cm3 engine of its S, R and RS siblings. It will have to make do with a displacement of 660 cm3. Piston bore and stroke have been reduced, as have torque and price. An unusual choice on the part of a manufacturer, but we've seen far more twisted clamping solutions in the past.

A different powertrain, an adapted spirit, but the same herd of evolutions as the 765 family. Beneath its revised bodywork and ovalized look, the Street Triple A2 benefits from an improved electronics package with ABS, traction control and two fuel injection maps (Rain or Road). A new aluminum swingarm enhances the rigidity of the bike's chassis. The R and RS models are equipped for hard riding, while the S offers more modest but effective equipment. A Showa inverted fork with no adjustment and a preload-adjustable shock absorber from the same manufacturer. Braking is limited to Nissin 2-piston calipers.
This Street Triple won't be a first-timer. It's designed for cubs to sharpen their claws. When the time comes, they'll be able to try the more virile versions, and discover the full measure of Triumph's sport-roader.
