Some creations may surprise. Others may pay tribute to past glories. And there are some that unite the two. Such is the destiny of this Triumph Bonneville, which Citroên poached to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the 2CV. It needed a symbol, boldness and a touch of French glamour...

Yet it was an Italian company that took charge of the design. The South Garage workshop has not lacked creativity and inspiration for this machine. Two elements strongly confirm the connection with Citroën's legendary car. The two-tone black and red Delage paintwork, identical to that of the 2CV Charleston. And the skirted stern that completely covers the rear axle, like the rear wings of the eponymous car. Charleston" lettering rounds off the silhouette's delicate roundness.

When the workmanship is such that you can no longer recognize the original bike, you know you're in the presence of an exercise in quality. You'd almost think this bike was a Citroën, but underneath it all, it's a British motorcycle. A Bonneville of renewal, for the dawn of the 21st century.
South Garage has also applied its talent by replacing the headlight with a grille adorned with André's trademark double chevron. The function optics, yellow for the occasion, find a place on the side of the fork. A single headlight, offset, as on the Deuche prototype, born before the Second World War.
A special mention for the luggage rack, which also features the Citroën symbol. The minimalist instrumentation is discreetly set off by the "South Garage" badge mounted on the handlebar bridge. The Monza-style fuel filler cap and leather seat continue to salute the sense of finish and craftsmanship.

One of France's most iconic cars seems to have been reincarnated in this motorcycle. This unique Triumph Bonneville Charleston was created purely for the pleasure of the eye and for commemoration, but its heart also beats to the tempo of two cylinders. It's neither the rhythm nor the sound of the 2CV of yesteryear, but the bottle is still intoxicating.
