presentation of the 900 Street Scrambler 2020
The Scrambler genre has come back from the past, driven more by fashion than by its forgotten qualities. It's the trail bike that took over its missions long ago. What's left, then, if not its history? So much, starting with its intrinsic versatility. The joy of the roadster mixed with off-road excursion capabilities.
Triumph understands this, has been promoting it for years, and is keeping it in its range more than ever, with a performance upgrade for its 900 Street Scrambler. Fall asleep on the beach! It'll get you to work on time the next day. Now with more watts in the coffee.
A slice of toast, a wave to your mates, extinguish the embers of yesterday's barbecue and fire up the twin. With the Triumph, you take some of the charm of lost moments with you. Before returning to the reality of everyday life, you may find yourself lost in the narrow lanes. That's where the Street Scrambler comes in, with its raised exhausts, small hoof, cobbled tires and spoked rims. Be careful not to take Gérard's rims, from the previous generation, with you when you set off. They're virtually identical in appearance. Except for the saddle, which has a new cover; and the logo, which has been tweaked a little; and the brake caliper, which has been shifted slightly. And the fork, with its wider-spaced tubes, looks much better. It's also more efficient, with improved internal components. The front end appears less sluggish. If you lean forward a little, you can see that it takes the road and its dynamism more seriously, with a new Brembo brake caliper that doubles the number of pistons.

the ex-Street Scrambler wasn't a fan of the exercise, really lacking breath after the mid-range. Triumph has responded to this criticism by boosting the twin. Not more displacement, but a higher compression ratio, a lighter crankshaft, fixed shafts and vilo balancer shafts, revised fuel injection and 18% more power in the end. This represents a gain of 10 hp for this 900 cm3, reaching a peak of 65 hp. As a result, engine response is more sparkling, making it possible to forget the "lacking a bit" aspect of the previous model. But you have to go out and get the watts. The maximum value is reached at 7,500 rpm, whereas its predecessor spat out its 55 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Identical punishment for torque, unchanged at 8.2 mkg but developed 350 rpm higher, at 3,200.
The mood when you wake up is often different from the mood after breakfast. For this Scrambler, it's the same. In addition to engine upgrades, Hinckley has added riding modes. Rain, Road and Off-Road mapping have been added to traction control and disconnectable ABS, both of which have been present since the birth of the Street Scrambler.
We've seen the main changes to the 900 Street Scrambler. Those in the know can still find answers in the instrumentation, front mudguard, upper fork crown and headlight mounts. The eye must be that of a true enthusiast.
As you'd expect, there are plenty of accessories, including a new Urban Tracker road orientation kit with :
- Heavy-duty 25 L pannier and mounting kit
- Vance & Hines mufflers
- CNC-machined black oil filler cap
- Black handlebar reinforcement
- Number plate kit
- Black ribbed café racer-style saddle
- Black protection bar kit
- Headlight grille and cover
- Raised front mudguard
- An engine cover kit.

Triumph has also thought of those who want something stronger, more powerful, more adventurous, more premium, less accessible: the 1200 versions in XC and XE opuses.

Maintenance
A combination of high ambient temperatures, high current loads and excessive side voltages can cause a bridge to form between the wiring between the alternator and the wiring harness connector. If the connector blades form a bridge, a thermal threshold may be reached which exceeds the connector's capacity and causes it to deform. This can lead to a short-circuit, increasing the risk of fire and creating an accident hazard.

rewarding, invigorating, comfortable, reassuring in all road and weather conditions, reliable, with very appreciable torque in town..highly recommended to bikers who sometimes have difficulty riding a motorcycle in heavy traffic..very reassuring with its turning radius and wide handlebars for slipping along like a bicycle! a magnificent machine, very timeless and chic, a beautiful object that I consider to be a piece of jewelry that I wear when the weather's fine, to have fun in town or on winding roads. my best motorcycle purchase to date, and one that's still going strong thanks to the image of the model and the brand. In terms of finish, as with the whole neo-retro Triumph range, everything is impeccable. Just one comment on the light yellow rear of the headlight reflector, visible through the huge hole at the back of the headlight. I took the whole thing apart and painted the reflector black to make it invisible.
Very happy with my Fusion White purchase, 2500 km on the odometer.

A question about the exhaust. Does it heat the leg in urban mode or does the heat shield do its job?
