presentation of the Tiger 1200 Alpine Edition 2020
Fancy taking to the road to chat with the groundhogs? In the Triumph range, there's a special model that lends itself to this excursion: the Tiger 1200 Alpine Edition. A well-chosen name for the order of the day, to be slipped in between the starter and the 3-cylinder blast.
The big British trail bike is already available in many versions. The brand has become a specialist in the genre. Eight members of the family by 2020! The Alpine's added value is presented in a special "Snowdonia White" paint finish, dotted with "SE" stickers and badges. Once the ignition is switched on, the difference in music can be heard in the exhaust system. Faithful partner Arrow is present here with a titanium and carbon silencer, 2.1 kilos lighter than the standard unit. The third and final bonus of this Special Edition is a shifter for upshifting and downshifting on the fly.
Is this package worth the extra 400 euros over the XRx? Well, that's up to you, but consider that the shifter alone costs more. It's enough to complete an already extensive list of equipment. This maxi-trailer comes with keyless ignition, heated grips, 5-inch TFT screen, semi-active suspension, four riding modes, backlit controls, cruise control, electrically adjustable windscreen, IMU for ABS cornering and optimized traction control, 12V and USB sockets, center stand....... Arg, we can't see the end of it.

To play with it? Not really. It's more for touring than for fun. The weight is not insignificant, and although the chassis components are in tune with the strength of the engine, the stature of the machine must not be forgotten.
Squeezed in between the XRx and XRt, the Tiger Alpine adds a spoonful of equipment for reduced inflation. Almost painless given the machine's already hefty price tag.
With its scent of a visit to our prestigious mountain range (I'm a local :-), this Alpine series knows how to appreciate its name. Contact, roads, freeways, the Maurienne massif, then all we have to do is find the dahu.
