presentation of the 765 Street Triple R 2021

There's no question of leaving a big gap between the 765 Street Triple S and the RS; those who hesitate between one and the other might choose neither. The R version comes to reconcile the ardors, offering fine dynamic potential - without sharpening its blades too much so as not to encroach on the most virulent of the siblings.

Three ways of looking at the 765 Street Triple, from the most welcoming to the least wise. For a long time, Hinckley's mid-size roadster has shown strong qualities, which it maintains to this day.

Its soul, its character, its ardor, it has taken it all the way to Euro5. A standard the 3-cylinder laughingly boasts about. It retains its 118 hp and a maximum torque of 7.9 mkg. However, revs will be a little quicker, as the rotational inertia has been reduced by 7% and the first two gear ratios have been shortened. Improvements to the airbox and exhaust are aimed at boosting the melody of the three-legged machine as well as satisfying regulations.

Triumph 765 Street Triple R 2021 - 1Triumph 765 Street Triple R 2021 - 1

Triumph 765 Street Triple R 2020subtle yet assertive, the Street Triple R's styling is based on that of its siblings. The same facelift for all, correlated above all by this more pronounced look. The rear-view mirrors are new, the cladding is taut, and the R has retained an ever-appreciated distinctive feature: the red finish of its rear buckle.

Fromyesterday to today, the 765 Street Triple R changes little in technical terms. Its aluminum perimeter frame, Showa suspension, anti-dribble clutch and Brembo M4.32 brakes have been retained. This is already enough to set a hell of a pace on the road. Triumph has listened to its customers' desire for a little more sportiness at its level, and installs a shifter as standard. That's all well and good.
What's not so good is that the dashboard has lost its beautiful color TFT screen. At a time when this type of display is invading everything, we're entitled to be surprised by this choice. The automaker defends this position by pointing out that the Street Triple's price has dropped - this "mid-range" model costs 800 euros less than its predecessor, a reduction of around 8%.

Triumph 765 Street Triple R 2020from now on, only the RS will benefit from an attractive information panel. For the R, it's the same as for the S: a half-LCD, half-analog handset, with a good old-fashioned needle climbing up the numbers. This loss of digital technology in no way detracts from the steering assistants, although a few changes have been reported. Since its previous generation, the R has taken over three Driving Modes (Road - Rain - Sport), but the "Rider" has been scrapped. The latter allowed the rider to configure the settings as he wished. ABS, traction control and several levels of throttle sensitivity are still there, as are automatic turn signals.

The Triumph 765 Street Triple R is a little more affordable, but it's still firmly in place. It lets the RS take on more serious fights with a sportier equipment package, including Brembo M50 brake calipers, a little more horsepower, an Öhlins amorto, an engine block, grippier tires, more riding modes and 2 kilos less weight.
The Street Triple R is also available in a Low version, with dedicated suspension and a seat 45 mm lower than the standard version, to make it more accommodating for smaller riders.

French franck Model 2022
bought new, 13,000 km on the odometer, no trouble, no weird stuff, really glad to still have the needle speedometer. for the price it's worth, this bike is amazing. the chassis is a ball film. best roaster on the market in terms of quality, price, performance and finish. won't go bad. and there are plenty of parts on the bon coin. I don't understand why the loss of the tft screen is a negative point
Also, this is a test version. Not yet the final version. There's nothing to say or prove that the bike is equipped with a tft screen, or that it's not a potential 660 model.

Une superbe moto à prix raisonnable !

Black 2020 model in the garage
A bike that's good everywhere, easy to handle
I chose the R for its sapphire black color. It's the only glossy black color in the 2020 catalog, and I didn't want the TFT screen, which is extremely fragile and breaks down without warning... (check out the forums and facebook pages, you'll see). A good old-fashioned needle is much nicer than the illegible gauge on the RS
In terms of equipment, it's more than enough for road use, and even for a bit of trail riding
On the other hand, your article should be amended, because the R does have a rider mode... that's not very professional of you.

I'd like to make a correction to your article. I'm the proud owner of a Street R since November 2021, so vintage 2022, and it does have 4 riding modes, with the rider mode configurable. It's fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3s, which already perform very well, even in the cold and on wet roads. I've seen on several sites that many bikers aren't fans of tft displays and prefer the good old needle tachometer. I've indulged myself by adding a few accessories. Well-equipped, very agile, very lively, hyper-stable and reassuring, thanks to Triumph for keeping this model in the catalog, which I recommend with my eyes closed!!!! Rating : 5/5

Excellent bike
Beautiful, Triumph-quality exhaust and um old-fashioned storytelling just the way I like it.
Very good throttle response, good performance and a very modern look.
Of all the competitors, this is my favorite, although I do regret the loss of the white color.
Have a nice day.

French Glin Model 2020
For me personally, the fact that it doesn't have a TFT screen is a very BIG plus
I actually like having an analog rev counter, like in the good old days
That's why I'd rather go for the R than the RS, even if the RS is better equipped with brakes and rear shock absorbers.

Excellente moto
French Nico Model 2020
In my humble opinion, this is one of the most efficient motorcycles on the market. I've never liked the TFT screen and the bevy of useless gadget features that add to the price of the bike for nothing
I just miss the days of the two pots under the seat on pre-2013 models.
