presentation of the Kemper 2025
The electric motorcycle market is constantly seeing new models. There's something for every taste: urban, trail-gt, modest, luxurious, overpowered, improbable, sporty, popular or high-end... And China is leading the way.
Yadea is one of these players, with a Kemper that offers a rather interesting vision. A roadster with a modestly successful appearance, whose thick plastic belly and cladding leave no doubt as to its means of propulsion.
The engine developed by Yadea delivers a nominal power of 23 kW (31 bhp), and can climb to a peak of 40 kW (54 bhp). This puts it head and shoulders above entry-level machines such as the Z 500 or a CB 500 Hornet. Except that the torque available is out of all proportion. The rear wheel can deliver a maximum force of 59.1 mkg. Elephantine! A Ford Mustang with its 5-liter V8 couldn't get that much out.
With its energy, the Kemper intends to digest 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach 160 km/h. Just the thing to have fun and enjoy spirited acceleration, which is the specialty of this type of engine. But don't overdo it, or range will plummet. At 6.4 kWh, the CATL lithium-iron-phosphate battery has a fairly limited range. Yadea warns of a capacity of just 60 km at 100 km/h. In short, three laps around the circuit and you're back to the charging station.
It makes up for this on the question of recharging. With its technology, it can handle many more recharging cycles than a Li-ion, but the brand's main claim to fame is its ultra-fast harvest. When plugged into a Type 2 terminal, the 320-volt battery recovers 0-80% of its energy in 10 minutes. As is often the case, no mention is made of the remaining 5th. But the argument is no less forceful - you plug in, make a phone call, answer an e-mail and off you go.

Can this little-known manufacturer make a mark with its Kemper? For the record, Yadea sells its products in over 100 countries. In just over 20 years, it has become the world leader in electric scooters. Nearly 20 million vehicles sold worldwide per year, that's a lot.
Presented at the end of 2023, the Kemper was expected to arrive during the 2024 season, but the cursor has been pushed back to 2025 for its commercial launch. The eternal problem is that pricing puts it in competition with high-calibre combustion models.
