presentation of the Tricker 250 2006

on the strategic offensive front, the battle rages between manufacturers to win the victories that will influence the market. Whoever has the most efficient sports bike, the most comfortable GT, the most aggressive roadster... Meanwhile, the majority of motorcyclists want to have fun, and not necessarily at 250 km/h on the corner or with 20 mkg of torque...
Yamaha's answer: the Tricker. A fun machine that quickly makes you think of a toy for adults. But not just any toy. The influence of X-games is clearly felt. This machine is a cross between a motocross bike and a motorcycle. Ultra-light (118 kg), with a svelte, simplistic look (you almost want to take it under your arm), spoked rims fitted with mixed asphalt/off-road tires and a 249 cm3, 4-stroke single, the Tricker makes you want to go trials just about anywhere. Its engine benefits from the accumulated experience of the legendary XTs, with the added care of a thorough study: forged piston, ceramic composite-coated cylinder, intake and exhaust ducts, airbox, vilo and carburetor settings optimized for the 250's playful side.

When you feel like having some fun, there's no need to think any longer: the little Yam urban trial is ready to follow you. with 19 hp, just over 100 kg, and a slim, compact design, it's sure to get you in the mood for some free-style riding. Who hasn't dreamed of a bi-cross with a motor?

While the fun and playfulness of the concept are obvious, its use is likely to be limited. It's hard to imagine the Tricker being used on long roads, especially as with 6 L in the tank, you won't be able to do Paris-Marseille like that. Off-road, trials, stunt and fun - at first glance, that's what this bike is all about. At almost 30,000 francs a toy, it's a sobering thought...

Great little bike. My wife has had one since 2006 (12 years!!). Only mechanical problem: the pot tube broke at the cylinder, replaced for a pittance. It now has 49500 km, never seen the mechanic (not even valve clearance adjustment, no rattles, quarter-turn demaÅ-re) An oil change from time to time (mecacyl oil filter) and it's off again for several hundred km....Only drawbacks: the ridiculous range (in my 110 km in town) and the duo suspensions (if we dare the duo!!!). Conclusion: not ready to change Rating : 3/5
Trop bien !

I'm lucky enough to have two...😊 so it's each to his own with the lady.
it goes everywhere, makes no noise, ideal motorcycle behind our camper (118 kgs for a 250), RIDICULOUS CONSO, IN BRIEF, I KEEP IT 😊

great bike but camshaft problem (already changed 2 times) so very noisy rattling and risk of breakage.
could be due to a clogged lubrication circuit.
I'm looking for an engine.

Top moto très attachante
French Model 2006
I've had it for 1 year. I haven't found anything better than my Tricker for Sunday rides. Just enough autonomy. I take a spare can of 2 just in case...
The only downside is that other bikes tend to say hello less... they must think I'm a cyclist! ... not bad at all.

there's no better way to have fun where and when you want. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
This bike meets the specifications of a light, fun motorcycle, but if you want to ride hard or mount a top case, there are other models. But if you want to have fun on all types of terrain (city or country), what more could you want than a 125-sized machine that's a blast to ride? Of course it's expensive, but you can find it second-hand with few miles. And those who've bought it and understood it aren't about to resell it! Rating : 5/5

I have a 2007 model that I equipped with 2 tires for 85 cm3 cross because there are no enduro tires in this size. I also fitted fork gaiters and handguards. It's ideal for TT touring. After 8,000 km of muddy trails, all I had to do was change the rear wheel bearings (brake pads, etc.) Rating : 4/5
Direction forcée, recherche de pièce
French Model 2006
I'm disgusted, I've done 1400km by van to pick up my tricker and on my first outing I was forced to steer and the handlebar lock was broken
Where can I get this "alumunium" part which is found under the niéman !??
Best wishes to all, and apart from this problem I'm so happy to have this little toy. very fun !!!

well, I've had a tricker since December 2006 and it has 6500 km
i live in the country and I don't regret changing my 600kawa for this little beaker that goes everywhere. I take it to work and I can push it to 130 without any problem
Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
i try them in town on the road, it's fun but you get bored of them very quickly. The tricker is beautiful, but it's not made for riding, it's just a little toy for fun like the 125 yamaha ty was. I've tried the 400 drzsm, which is also a toy, but the difference is that it can be ridden on roads with speed limits for a ride of 200 km or more Rating : 5/5
Too expensive,
Consumption 2.5l/100Km on test,(So tank no problem)

Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
not bad the concept lightness maneuverability and mixed tt cool + city, on the other hand the price 4500 euros it is too much (to see old engine of 20 years, suspensions without adjustments, autonomies ridiculous): a tank of 10 liters welcome.un door packages being able to support a top case also and a price of 3500 euros here which would be attractive or then an engine more modern in 300 or 350 cc with real adjustable suspensions and nobler materials to assume the price of 4500 euros (30 ch 116 kgs) ok Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
the pluses: yamaha has the merit of bringing out a lightweight 250cm3 4-stroke, ideal for city use, and a little more powerful than a 125 4-stroke... in this displacement range (> 125 and < 500), motorcycles are very rare... (apart from a suzuki dr-z 400, which performs well but is expensive...)

the minuses: ridiculous fuel tank capacity and price (4500 E), a sobering thought for a trail bike reminiscent of a lightened TW...

we'll have to wait and see if it's a real pleasure to drive....

French Model 2006
a nice look, a bit of a trial, a proven engine..
but nothing that justifies a price of 4500 euros
-the engine has been completely written off, and is probably produced for nothing outside Japan
-ridiculous fuel tank, and here too, great savings
compared to a metal tank
-optional accessories, which, even if they were offered
would not justify the price of the trcker

conclusion: the tricker 250 will only appeal to a few fashion victims, and other snobs in search of apparent novelty
At 3750 euros, we could talk about it again.

for the "tricker le" avi, the 250 tricker c 1.9mKg and not 18.8 Nm! you're talking nonsense for a biker with 30 years of experience!+ Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
i'm not of the same opinion as the 4 people who replied before me
a 250 tricker has a torque superior to a 1000 r1 18.8 Nm against 11 for the r1, it's a superb machine to make the rear wheel, the front wheel half turns on a road of 2 meters wide, to climb stairs it's a remarkable machine to have fun taking no risk with a very low price of consumables. 46 years old I ride for 30 years in motorcycle I've had everything from 500 xt to 1300 xjr through the r1
conclusion: if you want to have fun with a becanne the tricker is made for that and to go to work I still take the 120 km/h flat and uphill I keep the same speed, where a 125 is at 80 km

Mwouais... I've been riding for 20 years, and I still can't find anything to replace my good old 1989 xt 250 in town. For less than 4,000 Eur, I think I can still give it a makeover: just as light, just as fast, with a bigger tank and, let's just say, a more classic look. I think the tricker is missing the point. Too bad, I'll wait again. Rating : 5/5

c lair que 19 ch sa fait pas beaucoup et la vitesse maxi et de 90 km/h au dessus sa tremble de partout
it's really only for the city

there's not much fuel on a supermoto as it is, but you don't have to push it, or rather you do!
otherwise, the concept is nice
