presentation of the 1300 ROYAL STAR VENTURE 2000
to design this grand tourer, Yamaha took the Royal Star as a starting point and gave it the weapons it needed to seduce long-distance enthusiasts. The V4 boosts its power by 24 hp, and the equipment is enhanced in the style of the big GTs: large fork heads, top case and side cases as standard... You could even say it looks like theElectra Glide, its most direct competitor. With 127 liters of luggage capacity, the Venture can take you through many a region. Set the speed with cruise-control, listen to the tunes (V4 or cassette radio) or chat with the passenger - the bike comes pre-equipped with Intercom. This beautiful machine was originally designed for the North American market, where this type of motorcycle is very popular. As the Royal Star has become a Venture and a tourer, it has also put on weight (70 kg), but also belly fat - with an extra 4.5 liters in the tank, it's possible to do some great stages. It's a pity the suspension isn't more comfortable, and the brakes could do with a bit more bite. But that's not the point. The Venture is a beautiful, well-equipped bike, capable of offering a lot. While it's likely to stir up trouble among the big GT clan(Goldwing and Harley Electra leading the way), it can also count on a less toxic price tag than its rivals.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 42 reviews
a little less powerful, but the sound of the v4 is so pleasant
wind protection is also perfect
braking is okay, but nothing more
in any case, with this type of machine, you have to anticipate and keep your distance from those in front
all in all, an excellent tourer that has nothing to envy goldwing for the 1500 Rating : 4/5 Respond to Sergent290
Small question on my royal star in 4th and 5th if I put handle in the angle the bike starts nickel but around 2500tr
It slips a quarter of a second and sends all the sauce a bit like a double body on a car
Does that do it for you too?
Ride safe V Rating : 4/5 Respond to Marko
(r.star de 2001 grise 68000 klm) effectivement un peu lourdingue a l'arret mais des qu'elle roule .....le pied!
fuel consumption when driving kool barely 5.5l!! i've never found the braking insufficient ..... it's not an "R1" either!
very good rider and passenger comfort, but the saddlebags are loaded in a "strange" way: the aluminum rims get pitted and oxidize ...and the radio is inaudible at 80 kph and above
intercom: "bof"!
beautifully crafted chrome and paintwork
very reasonable tire consumption when driving kool
with towing hook and very large trailer capacity
go with confidence, especially as the mill is indestructible!
Rating : 5/5 Respond to kangal
but in view of certain comments
could you reassure me or confirm this in advance thank you Rating : 4/5 Respond to bigfoot
I have just acquired a royal star venture that needs to be restored but is still rolling
An impressive machine..
I need to change the rear amorto
and do a carburetor synchro
Do you have any advice on how to change the rear shock?

great comfort
Mind the weight!
2000 model, no whistling, but a little less maneuverable than my 1987 Venture 1200
superb machine that attracts a lot of attention- Rating : 5/5 Respond to Veeline

mine, which is from 2001, also whistles, and apparently all the ventures from 1999 to 2001 whistle

Now I also ride a Sportster 1200C and a BMW 1200RT... now that's modern: reassuring braking, power, light and easy to handle: Perfect!
But my Venture has a soul too...

As I took the freeway, I was at the same speed, and I deduce that the whistling wasn't coming from the blues. I'm leaning towards the air box. As soon as I've autopsied the thing, I'll let you know.
Best regards Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
I've had a Royal Star Venture for 9 years and I've done the four corners of France with it. Just the fifth gear sprocket broke but I was able to get in and do something about it
Very good machine to ride passenger and trailer included, and for me it's the only one I'm still loyal to! it has a few flaws but who doesn't but also a lot of quality and a timeless line unlike the others (gold, bmw, ....)! have a good ride

i've done 12,000 kms in 7 months and we're off to do the Tunisian circuit in May with a couple of friends, after which I'm changing it for the VN 1700 voyager Rating : 5/5 Respond to papy guy
I'm looking for accessories but I don't have a specialized dealer in Paris Rating : 5/5 Respond to Philippe
That said, I love it!!!! I wouldn't change it for anything in the world, not even for an Electra Glide (which looks like a "little bike" next to it...), a gold 1800 or a BM 1200 LT (I preferred the custom look)
As an option, I've added a CD changer and I'm planning to fit ABS and full braking. When I say I love this bike!!!!

I've just bought a Venture 1300 (the last one)
It's a wonderful bike, good handling, comfort, all options, fuel consumption between 6.5 and 7L/100Km
I'm entirely satisfied with its character and restrained power
Too bad it's no longer sold in France!
It handles better than my old Gold Wing 1500..
A+
