presentation of the YBR 125 2011

there's so much talk about hypersports, their stratospheric performance, and the ever more "bad boy" streetfighters, that we almost forget about machines like the YBR 125. These simple little machines, with no fuss or trumpets, that do everything without being noticed... In short, the essentials that take us to work every day for 1 euro a ride. This has been the mission of the little Yam since 2005. And for its new 2010 vintage, it thought a trip to the stylist wouldn't be out of place. New 5-spoke wheels, a new muffler design, wide tank scoops for added style and a new, more aerodynamic dashboard with a more serious look. No changes to the engine or chassis. Let's just hope Yam changes the YBR's original tires. For the rest, confidence remains in this model, which is among the most economical available: low price, minimal wear and tear on consumables, moderate fuel consumption. As some people would say: "You're very urban, missy".

I've had a YBR for almost 5 years now and I'm very happy with it. Obviously performance is limited, but it has always taken me everywhere (even in the mountains). Reliable and extremely economical: low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs. I've had my doubts several times about the Chinese tires... When I changed them (at 6000kms) for "Michelin", I didn't have the same driving and comfort sensations. It's hard to understand why Yamaha equips its bikes with mediocre tires (it's almost dangerous). Rating : 5/5

Good evening, I've just taken possession of my bike and I've done 100 km for my 1st outing. Good impression for this 1st test. It's fitted with a Pirelli cyti Delon tire at the front and a Michèlin pilot street at the rear. I wanted to get your opinion on these tires. Rating : 3/5

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I have just made myself happy by buying this used motorcycle 2012, 14500km, 1 year warranty, 1500â'¬. My 1st motorcycle, 62 years old and young retiree, I enjoyed myself and I hope I won't retire it. I took 2 hours of motorcycle school to get the hang of it, and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow morning. I'm as impatient as a child waiting for a present... Rating : 4/5

I bought this bike as a "do-it-all" bike.
I'm very happy with it. Injection: Instant start-up. Low fuel consumption. Correct size. The only downside: Performance a little lacking. But it's a 125... I recommend without hesitation.

French pt-pierre Model 2012
I've got a 2012 ybr, it's wonderful and economical, but what I don't like about it is the bulb consumption, both front and rear. I bought it new, 13 kilos to start with, and I've done 14950kilo to date, and I can tell you that it's come a long way since I bought it i had to do 12000kilo for him to realize that this was the place for the air filter and I paid the amount for the filter for my wallet. What a waste since then I drive almost every day with pleasure but for repairs I change repairer. Thanks for letting us speak Rating : 4/5

First motorcycle. bought second-hand, 4500 km, in March 2014 for 1800 euros in a sales depot. Did 13,000 km in six months, in all weather except snow and ice. Super reliable, starts right up. Changed original tires, Chinese I think, at 6000 km or 1 month after purchase, for the front tire and 8000 km for the rear tire. I put on Michelin Pilote Street tires. They seem to wear much less. Otherwise, clutch cable broken at 12,000 km. That's the only problem I've had in six months and 13,000 km on the road. It now has 17,000 km and runs very well. Easy to handle, comfortable in both driver and passenger seat. I rode it over the Alps and the Pyrenees without any problems. Max speed: 100 km/h, 95 km/h with passenger. On hillsides or with headwinds, it drops to 40 km/h for the toughest climbs with passenger. Fuel consumption: low, 3 to 4 l/100 km solo or duo respectively. I've put retro-reflective stickers all over to make it easier to see at night, and fluorescent red during the day. I highly recommend it for a first contact with the world of motorcycling. Bref: YBR forever
French Windu Model 2012
With my motorcycle license in hand in 2012, I was on the hunt for my first motorcycle!
I knew I wanted a second-hand bike (as it would be sleeping under the stars), but I also wanted it to be as practical, light and modestly fuel-efficient as my credit card would allow...

In short, the ideal city bike.
After a lot of research in dealerships and on the web, one thing became obvious:
YBR where are you?

I bought this red 2008 YBR in Sep. 2011 for 1190 euros, and it's a blast. In short, I'm riding with a hard-on, but it won't last long as the rear wheel is giving me a few scares: it's spinning!
Anyway, I don't have the time, I just have to use my right foot.
It's raining and I'm running late.
In short, I'm overtaking: the light turns red, there's a truck in front, I quickly pull over and brake.
i then discover that my motorcycle wants to take my place in the Karma's chain:
Anyway, I get away unscathed, but she doesn't: crush is the only word that comes to mind.

Anyway, after her funeral, off to Yamaha:
-Hello, do you have a YBR?
-And your red YBR?
-Do you know the Karma?
-not really....
-Never mind, I'll take that black YBR, the one in ocassion.

Anyway, I've been riding it for 1 year now, and like ATCHOUM, I changed the rear tire for the Michelin pilot activ (don't worry, I've learned my lesson.).

Since changing the rear wheel made in China: cheng shin/c-905 the conquest of Gaulle has intensified...

I did 30,000km in Guadeloupe with it. A real treat.
Since returning to France, I've bought the same one and am now at around 5,000km.
Advantages in terms of fuel consumption, handling and maintenance.

Hello,

I've owned a 125 ybr for 2 and a half years.
In terms of performance, you can't ask too much of it, it's true that it stutters, but hey, it's a 125.
Fuel consumption, quietness and sobriety are its main assets.
On the other hand, it has two weak points: it rusts and the...original tires (that's overkill) need to be remedied, so I opted for a Continental 100/98/18 at the rear and a 2.75-18 of the same brand at the front, with maxi rear shock absorbers.
In short, make these modifications and you'll be safe, because believe me, it's worth it ;)

I've been riding a YBR 125 for 03 years, and to date I've covered over 20,000 km on a 1/3 city, 2/3 expressway route.
I'm extremely satisfied with it! It's a maneuverable motorcycle, very economical in terms of insurance and fuel consumption (2.7l per 100), and it's great in traffic jams. I've never had any problems with it, and apart from the original tires, which are a horror and which I've replaced with Michelin, and the headlight bulb, which I've changed twice, everything is original and works perfectly. It sleeps outside under a motorcycle tarpaulin and starts without a hitch, with no rust or abnormal wear.
On the other hand, it's still a 125, so at full throttle in 5th gear on a flat, windless road, you'll hit 110 on the odometer. But for my home/work use, it's perfect and inexpensive: monthly budget 12euros for third-party insurance and 2.7 per 100, i.e. a full tank every 430 km... Something to think about!
I'm thinking of replacing it with another ybr, version 2013.

I'm disappointed with the YBRs. Their tank doesn't hold! Rust deteriorates it easily! After a year of use, I no longer recognize my YBR! The manufacturing house failed and I know as many YBR users who are in the same situation as me! Total disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rating : 1/5
French touplein Model 2012
how can I not stop and give you my impressions after 11,000km on it:
2.3l/100, 120km/h maintained, 130km/h max (wind at my back, with suction on the freeway), supple in town, ideal seat for me and after testing a dozen models (just by sitting on it at the dealer's), I paid 1890â'¬ new^^ on special offer and don't hesitate to ask for a small discount ^^
130â'¬ of diesel saved by me by going to work with this little bike and yet it's gasoline... maintenance and parts cheaper even new... uh... I'd never let it go again ^^ and if I'd chosen another one... well, it would be another YBR

The ybr 125 is a fun little bike to ride. It's easy and economical, and its simplicity will win you over....
Despite everything, I think it's high time to "modernize" it and give it a real makeover this time! It would undoubtedly boost its sales and also enable it to gain ground on the competition!
