presentation of the XVS 1300 Custom Stryker 2014
let's call it Stryker, if you don't mind; why? Because that's what it's called in the U.S., and it's a lot more snappy than the XVS 1300 Custom. You've got to admit that a machine with charisma like that has to have a dry, powerful name, with the virility you'd expect from a chopper. Introduced in 2011 in the States, the Stryker waited until 2014 to land in France, and shake up the Yamaha custom range. The little Bolt is no longer the only one causing a stir on the streets. Its big brother will now also be joining the gang, giving another dimension to the 1300 twin.
this big twin used to be exclusive to Midnight Star. Equipped with forged pistons and connecting rods, 4 valves per cylinder, fuel injection and liquid cooling, this 60°-open engine promises its share of sensations. Its mapping is slightly different from that of its cruiser cousin. As a result, maximum power is only slightly lower, at 72.1 hp instead of 73, and torque loses 0.3 mkg. But its peak of 10.5 mkg is available 1000 rpm earlier. The available power should prove sufficient. Lovers of big thrust will have to turn to a larger-cube Harley Breakout, for twice the price. But it doesn't really matter, because the Stryker's long, extravagant lines are a real head-turner. The 21-inch front wheel seems to escape from the chassis, justifying the 1755 mm wheelbase. Accumulating striking geometry values, the Japanese chopper boasts a 34° caster angle (an FZ1 is 25°) and a big 210 mm rear tire. All of which adds up to boat-like handling. Is it just for show and straight lines? Not necessarily: Yamaha stands by its low-speed manoeuvrability. With the big rear gumshoe, however, you can expect a certain resistance to cornering.
like all custom bikes, the XVS 1300 Stryker doesn't like revs. Metal, steel, not too much plastic, and little chrome. It weighs in at just over 290 kilos. That's in the low mid-range of the category. To stop it all, 2 disc brakes: 320 mm at the front and 310 at the rear.
Seductive, rebellious and far more provocative than the XVS 1300 A Midnight Star, this Custom version makes convincing styling arguments. With a price tag that's not too steep, it offers an attractive alternative to American machines

i would like to know how to disassemble the fuel tank on the 1300 stryker
sincerely
Dominique Rating : 4/5 Respond to dominique
it's light, accelerates hard and fast, the saddlebags are like eyeglass cases, fuel consumption is a little higher despite the injection (I'm bending the right-hand grip out of shape), it slams a lot at low revs despite the injection... or because of it... it's not comfortable either alone or in a duo, the handlebars are low and narrow.
i put a 240 in the rear without modifying it (just scraping the belt cover) and a Kuryakin velociraptor filter that breathes and makes a nice intake noise. For the pots I made 4 holes of 12 around the outlet
i'm more than satisfied with this machine Rating : 4/5 Respond to hardi

but take it as a first motorcycle, no problem. I've had my license for 20 years and I've never owned a motorcycle, just a 125 for two years. I've just bought the Custom XVs 1300, which is easy to ride, but be careful, it's got power for a young rider and... SO WATCH THE VIDEO CRASH; hi. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
Super bike, I've just tried it and Wouhaaa...it moves well..plus Madame and I it's not a gift and what a potato! The only downside for the duo was the position of the footrests for my wife, who had her legs bent too much...so on long journeys, the question arises. It's a shame, because we were thrilled. My girlfriend totally fell in love with this model, as she was waiting for a refund on the flight of her previous xjr1300, and wanted a change of style.
Reassured by this testimonial, I was wondering if it wasn't a bit too tight for the passenger. Which model did you choose for the backrest? Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
