The Wrenchmonkees are back with the XSR 900 Yard Built "Monkeebeast". The Wrenchmonkees tuners are key players not only in the world of tuning, but also in Yamaha's Yard Built activities. In their Copenhagen workshop, the Danish duo have created several custom bikes from the Sport Heritage range: the SR 400, the XJR 1300 and now the XSR 900.

Available in black - the color of choice for Wrenchmonkees - the XSR 900 Yard Built "Monkeebeast" goes one step further by breaking with tradition. This is no ordinary Café Racer or brat machine, but an urban warrior designed to take on any terrain.

"The Wrenchmonkees are among the most influential tuners in the business," comments Cristian Barelli, marketing coordinator for Yamaha Motor Europe. "We've been working with them since the early days of the Yard Built project. This creation is exceptional; it's proof positive that their design is constantly progressing and evolving to stay at the cutting edge! I'm really pleased that they've demonstrated that by making a few clever modifications, without cutting or welding the frame, it's possible to transform the XSR 900 and make it a completely different machine."

The transformation of the XSR 900 from a true city-dweller into an off-road machine was made possible by Borrani's 17" spoked wheels with black rims, 9 mm spokes and black hubs. Borrani wheels are fitted with Continental TKC tires. The rear has been beefed up with a K-Tech shock absorber, Gilles Tooling chain tensioners and a TRW rear brake disc, as well as twisted steel brake hoses.

The riding position has been reworked with the addition of a bespoke Wrenchmonkees saddle, modified Gilles Tooling pedals with enduro footpegs, Magura handlebars and Biltwell Renegade grips. Front braking has been beefed up with a Nissin radial front brake master cylinder and twisted steel rear brake hoses. Motogadget buttons give a sleek design to the point of contact, while the MT-03-like headlight and LED taillight shine brightly.

A raucous SC Project exhaust crowns a modified MT-09 system, while Wrenchmonkees' custom aluminum crankcase guard, front fender and rear fender contribute to the custom look. The powder-coated fender, fuel filler cap and mudguards add the finishing touches to the design: the Monkeebeast is ready to hit the road!

Certain parts designed for the Monkeebeast will soon be available directly from Wrenchmonkees for XSR 900 owners who want to make their machine stand out from the crowd.
