presentation of the WR 450 F Rally 2017
On January 2, 2017, the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team set off on the 2017 Dakar Rally. Riding the 2017 WR450F Rally, Helder Rodriguez, Adrien Van Beveren, Alessandro Botturi and Rodney Fagotter set off from Asuncíon in Paraguay, a first in the rally's history. They will continue their journey through Bolivia, finishing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 14.
the world's most demanding rally-raid requires a perfectly prepared motorcycle, and the WR is up to the challenge. The enduro WR450F has undergone a number of modifications: this competitive production bike has been transformed into a genuine rally-raid machine capable of taking on the legendary Dakar. In order to cover those 9000 kilometers in extreme conditions, the WR450F Rally is equipped with a 33-liter fuel tank and a larger cooling system to cope with the hottest temperatures.
the instantly recognizable navigation tower at the front of the bike features four lights, a GPS, roadbook dispenser and all the other elements needed for rider navigation. Its advanced chassis and engine ensure a powerful, light and agile machine, giving riders perfect control of their motorcycle. In terms of suspension, the WR450F Rally uses a BOS telescopic fork and a modified swingarm.
for all those who dream of riding this machine on the Dakar, the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team is currently developing a specific "customer" kit to transform a WR450F into a real racing machine. These kits should be available from July 2017.
