presentation of the XSR 125 'Allons Rider' 2022
Yard Built' s creations revolve around medium and large displacement motorcycles, but the family of customizers has little experience of small displacement bikes. With the XSR 125 "Allons Rider", fun and preparation have taken on a new dimension.
The French XSR 125 Yard Built was created in partnership with Manon Lanza, better known on social networks as "Allons Rider". Manon is a young skateboarder and surfer living between Biarritz and Los Angeles. Her quest can be summed up in a few words: to find and practice the best possible riding spots, whatever the season. Just like the miles swallowed up on her Yamaha TW 125 on the roads of the Basque Country, this desire for freedom inspired the transformations she carried out on the XSR 125.
" Riding a motorcycle is the catalyst of my life. I started at the age of 6 on a PW 50, and that conditioned my approach to board sports. I realized that I could be a girl and spend my Wednesday afternoons in the mud. I even wanted to be a garage mechanic at the time. After that, I saw my whole life as: "I'm a girl and I can ride". Over the years, skateboarding came into my life, surfing, snowboarding too. "
The major modification to the "XSR 125 Allons Rider" can be seen on its right-hand side. It's a custom-built skateboard rack, perfectly integrated into the machine.
A lot of work has gone into the XSR 125 's paintwork, with a dominant "brushed aluminum" finish.
" I spend a lot of time in California, which is where I like to escape to thanks to its superb landscapes and excellent year-round weather conditions. I wanted a motorcycle that reflected this Californian atmosphere. For the paint, I chose brushed aluminum because I think it's the same look as skateboard trucks, the metal part you find under the board. "

" For the saddle, I wanted something that stood out. So I took my inspiration from the American fast-food restaurants of the 1970s, with their iconic red chairs ". A new vintage-style red covering now covers the saddle.
Among the dozen or so modifications on the XSR 125 Yard Built "Allons Rider" project, numerous references are available in the Yamaha catalog: Akrapovic muffler, short number-plate bracket, engine cowl covers, radiator side covers and LED indicators from the MT-09.
The preparation also features a set of Dunlop Mutant tires with a crossover profile, chosen for their versatility and durability. So you can go further if the need arises.
