presentation of the FX 2013
the Zero FX boasts more torque and acceleration power than any other model in Zero Motorcycles' history. Quite simply, it's the do-it-all, off-road model of urban motorcycles. With 9.7 mkg, 44 hp and a light weight of just 125 kg, the Zero FX gets off to a flying start and has plenty of grip at any rpm. The Zero FX's performance features can be tailored to riders' requirements via Bluetooth and a compatible mobile device. Based on the competition-proven Zero MX platform, the Zero FX benefits from the same all-terrain suspension to allow thrill-seeking riders to explore all off-road surfaces. Visually different, the Zero FX is only available in black, with an elegant and sophisticated graphics package.
equipped with the first fully integrated modular propulsion system, the Zero FX is available in two versions: ZF2.8 (one module) and ZF5.7 (two modules). The lockable modules can be added separately or removed, regardless of load level, in less than a minute. As with the rest of the 2013 range, the Zero FX can be recharged to 95% at CHAdeMO charging stations in an hour, or even less, thanks to an optional accessory. Riding a motorcycle has never been easier, thanks to the Z-Force sealed engine, belt drive and high-efficiency propulsion system, all of which virtually eliminate the need for powertrain maintenance.
z-Force Power track technology changes the game: the first fully integrated modular propulsion system
the Zero FX features the first fully integrated modular propulsion system. With slots for two batteries, you can use either one or both of the Zero FX's battery slots. Batteries can be charged on the bike or elsewhere using an optional accessory. There's no need for a ground-level socket. The batteries also work with the optional CHAdeMO and quick charge accessories. These recharge the battery to 95% in one hour.
The Zero FX is available with one (ZF2.8) or two (ZF5.7) battery modules. Compatible with the Zero XU and Zero MX, these modules are interchangeable between the three bikes.
revolutionary Z-Force motor: breathtaking acceleration with 95 Nm of torque
the Zero FX engine is configured to produce more torque than any other motorcycle in the range. The result is breathtaking acceleration. Zero Motorcycles has designed the Z-Force engine down to the last detail, making it compact, efficient and powerful. Fully air-cooled, the engine provides a fantastic riding experience with no maintenance required. When you slow down, the motor generates energy which is fed back into the battery to extend the range.
rechargeable anywhere
the Zero FX's recharging system is integrated into the motorcycle and can be plugged into any standard socket. No additional equipment is required for standard charging. This allows you to recharge your machine in your garage, at the office or when you stop off at one of your favorite spots on a motorcycle outing. For those interested in fast charging, the CHAdeMO accessory recharges the battery to 95% in just one hour.
The Zero FX's battery modules can be removed from the motorcycle and charged separately using an optional accessory. This means they can be charged anywhere. So you don't have to use a ground-level socket.
aluminum chassis and bodywork
the motocross frame is the heart of the Zero FX. It has been developed by Zero down to the last detail and handcrafted using aircraft-grade aluminum. The resulting light weight and strength offer greater responsiveness. When cornering and starting off, this translates into greater acceleration. Each frame is shot-blasted and anodized for longer life.
smooth control
whether in town or off-road, the Zero FX uses a refined suspension system to absorb aggressive surfaces. Taking advantage of the bike's light weight, the inverted front fork is strong, light and responsive. Riders can adjust it quickly using externally adjustable compression and shock absorbers. at the rear, a rigid "diamond" double swingarm keeps the wheel in contact with the ground using a fully adjustable rear shock with preload and rebound damping.
nissin brakes
the Zero X is equipped with a powerful, easy-to-meter braking system, so you can corner faster and ride to the limit with instantly available torque.
road-approved tires and wheels for excellent traction
the Zero FX's aluminum wheels are designed to reduce unsprung mass without compromising strength. During acceleration, torque is immediately transferred to the track thanks to a solid rear tire, and directed by an aggressive front tire.
figures
the ZERO FX ZF2.8 costs 9,495 euros, weighs 106 kilos, delivers 27 hp and has a range of up to 56 km. The top version, the ZERO FX ZF5.7, weighs 19 kilos more, produces 44 hp, costs 11,995 euros, and increases range to 113 km. The cost of recharging is 36 centimes for the ZF2.8 and 74 centimes for the ZF5.7.
