founded in California in 2006, electric motorcycle brand Zero Motorcycles is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016. To celebrate its 10 years of existence and innovation, Zero Motorcycles is offering a limited edition of the DSR.

fifty examples of this 10th anniversary Zero DSR will be built at Zero Motorcycles' Santa Cruz headquarters. This motorcycle is designed to be the brand's most elegant and refined model. It features signature elements such as black metallic paint, custom graphics and a full range of accessories. It offers extra protection with a dual-sport windshield and hand guards, and added comfort with a rear luggage rack as standard.

it's also the first model to include a standard Charge Tank, enablingrie, enabling customers to extend their riding options by using the network of Level 2 charging stations, such as Autolib . Considered a versatile trail bike, the special 10th Anniversary Zero DSR is a nod to Zero Motorcycles' off-road roots.

the Zero DSR is an optimized version of the Zero DS that brings unprecedented levels of power and torque to the world's most versatile electric motorcycle. For the dual-sport rider who wants more, the Zero DSR offers 56% more torque and 25% more power. A 660-amp motor controller is coupled to a Z-Force® motor containing higher-temperature magnets to ensure better performance during extended riding at higher speeds. The result is exciting acceleration and even greater off-road prowess.

with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and 14.7 mkg of torque on demand, the Zero DSR may be civilized, but it's far from tame. With individually adjustable Showa suspension and Bosch ABS, it's equally at home on asphalt or in the mud. The Zero DSR is more than ready for maximum adventure... in the city and beyond.

the Zero DS and Zero DSR feature advanced chemical cell and battery management systems for greater capacity and longer range. The ZF13.0 power pack delivers over 230 km and is designed to last as long as the bike. The result of cutting-edge research and development: each cell in the power pack is individually controlled and monitored to ensure optimum performance.

power Tank - Up to 288 km in town

the Z-Force® Power Tank provides an additional 2.8 kWh of storage capacity to the power pack of any 2014 or later Zero DS or Zero DSR motorcycle. Available as an option, the Power Tank can be added at any time, at or after purchase, increasing the maximum battery capacity to 15.9 kWh. With this kind of energy, a rider can cover up to 288 km in the city or 138 km on the freeway.

z-Force engine - up to 67 hp and 144 Nm

zero Motorcycles designed the Z-Force® engine from the ground up to be compact, efficient and powerful. The Zero DSR delivers exhilarating acceleration and can reach a top speed of 158 km/h. Fully air-cooled, the engine provides an amazing driving experience with no regular maintenance required. When you slow down, the motor generates electricity which is fed back into the power pack to extend driving time.

chassis and body

aircraft-grade aluminum is used exclusively in the construction of the double-spar chassis. It's light, strong and one of the main reasons why these bikes are incredibly maneuverable in the mud and on the road. Designed to have a low center of gravity, the Zero DS and Zero DSR are highly maneuverable and responsive. The refined, rugged appearance is rounded off by an elegant body with a modern, aggressive, stripped-down look. The tank area of the body features an integrated, lockable and removable storage compartment. The tank can also be replaced by the Power Tank accessory for longer range, or by the Charge Tank for faster recharging.

zero Motorcycles worked closely with Showa to develop the suspension systems. These handle small bumps perfectly, control larger impacts predictably and smooth out the action in all conditions. The rigid torsion of the front end offers improved handling, while the hollow front axle reduces unsprung weight. Suspension settings are fully customizable to meet the requirements of most riders.

the Zero DS and Zero DSR are equipped with Bosch's advanced anti-lock braking system (ABS), which improves control in a wide range of conditions and ensures the best braking performance. The large, unsupported front brake disc, 320 mm in diameter, enhances braking power.

dashboard and apps

zero's dashboard is designed to quickly provide useful and accurate information such as charge level, power output and selected riding profile. You can juggle the three driving modes using the ergonomic switch on the right to better determine your driving needs: sport, eco, custom. The dashboard display is a blue backlit LCD screen. with the Zero Motorcycles app, you have access to detailed information about your motorcycle, such as remaining recharge time, average watts per kilometer, total recharge cycles and much more. When you're stationary, the app lets you set the performance profile of the customized riding mode, adjusting parameters for maximum speed, maximum torque and maximum regenerative braking. When you're riding your bike, your cell phone transforms into a personalized dashboard that gives you real-time, detailed information about your bike. Synchronized with Bluetooth, the application works on iPhone and Android-based mobile devices.
