This AMB 001 is one of those exceptional productions. Not just for its prestige, its organized rarity or its appalling / commensurate price tag. Its shape, its design, and certainly above all its kinship, this machine is apt to unleash fascination. This is the first motorcycle from the famous car manufacturer Aston Martin. Eternally associated with James Bond, the British brand is now also associated with another of the country's most famous names, Brough Superior.

Aston Martin makes superb sports cars, but not bikes. It therefore called on Brough, and thus on the French company Boxer Design, to design a motorcycle as noble as it is exceptional. It is, it shows, it wants to be, and its silhouette does the rest. Sculpted, languorous forms, both bestial and delicate. Aston's advertising claims that the AMB 001 draws inspiration from the brand's cars to emphasize the lines of its profile. Really? We'd like to believe you, but we're still looking.

We'll find more answers in the engine, here more hidden than in the Brough Superior, but still superb to detail. Enthusiasts will recognize the 997 cm3 V-Twin, proudly built, generously finished, and here adorned with a singular protuberance. And what's that? An eccentric metal airbox? A watch-turner for James's? A luxury canister?
Better still: a turbo. A motorcycle with a sporty name must have big watts. The turbocharged engine boasts 180 horsepower. This supercharged reinforcement benefits from variable geometry technology, to deliver plenty of power from low revs.
The choice of materials for the bike and the use of essentials have kept the dry weight down to 180 kilos, enabling the AMB 001 to boast a power-to-weight ratio of 1. Strong emotions ahead! On the track only.

alas, you might say. The absence of mirrors, indicators and other trinkets is no coincidence. The Aston Martin is exclusive, and built for track use only. Who would risk demolishing such a jewel?
It's even more of a shame not to be able to fantasize about meeting it one day at a café, a Rolex convention or a barbecue with Qatari emirs and Greek shipowners. Packed with precious materials, the AMB 001 features a carbon frame, a Fior-type double-spar fork, titanium parts and machined aluminum. The perforated leather saddle is more like a piece of fine lingerie than a traditional seat. The same skin treatment is applied to the handles. As for the body color, we remain in the Aston tradition with a choice of "Stirling Green" dotted with "Lime Essence" yellow edging.

An object of passionate and eccentric desire, the Aston Martin AMB 001 will only give full expression to its passion to 100 wealthy enthusiasts. It will then join the finest collections, where it will surely cross paths with the Lotus C-01. Gaydon's coat of arms shines on Nottingham's, while Toulouse's savoir-faire sublimates both. This bike is also the manufacturer's most affordable motorized machine, 30% less expensive than the Vantage V8. Delivery scheduled for late 2020.
