presentation of the RSV-R 1000 2005

For 2004, Aprilia is offering us a brand-new RSV-R that's going to make some noise. The name is a bit misleading, since this model actually replaces the standard RSV - the old-generation RSV-R will be replaced by the RSV-R Factory; get the picture? The least we can say is that the new RSV-R looks great. Smaller, lower, aggressively styled and nicely finished, with the added bonus of a forced air intake right in the middle of the face, as pioneered by the Honda SP-1 and adopted by the Kawa ZX-6RR. The turn signals are fully integrated into the machine: in the mirrors at the front and in the bodywork at the rear. The headlamps have been extensively reworked, especially the rear, which resembles that of a spaceship. The RSV-R is shorter, more agile and faster. To achieve this, the twin has been redesigned and now produces 138 hp at the crankshaft. It now has 2 exhausts to breathe through, and a new gearbox with tighter ratios. The frame and swingarm are new, as are the aluminum-alloy wheels and Brembo radial calipers with 1 pad per piston. Verdict: the new RSV-R is 1 sec faster than its predecessor on the Mugello circuit. The new machine will also be available as a Factory version, packed with majestic equipment.

APRILIA RSV-R 1000 and a few more details. We've saved weight everywhere: the frame is 600g lighter and weighs less than 10kg (9.65); the swingarm is almost 10% lighter at 4.86kg. The motor not only offers more watts, it has also gone through the "kilos down" process, shedding 1,500g. The new frame geometry, a peachy engine and a top-notch braking system all make it possible to send big power without having to fight with the machine. To add a ladleful of efficiency, remember that the Aprilia is equipped with an anti-dribble system in the clutch, allowing you to apply engine braking without locking the rear wheel. Not only is it beautiful, efficient, much less expensive and more powerful than its compatriot, but an Italian twin that can annoy the 4-legged Japanese deserves respect.

i own 1rsv1000 from 2002, a tuono from 2003 and a tuono from 2005.
the 2003 tuono is prepared for the road and I do some hill-climbing, so there's nothing to complain about.
I think my next bike will probably be an aprilia. down with the japs...

Superb bike, different from the usual Japanese bikes, easy to ride if you've ever ridden a twin. Incredible roadholding, it takes care of itself on corners, just by looking at it. Dazzling acceleration, from 3,000 rpm to the red zone. There's no need to stay on the revs like with a 4-wheeler, and you can even afford to make a few gear selection errors. And the icing on the cake is that it winds up so fast at low revs that you can keep your license and still have fun on a sports car. Rating : 5/5

I think that Vinc'S 15 years old doesn't know anything about motorcycles because I had an RSV 2002 and I now have an RSV R 2004 and I have much more feeling with it in 100 hp than with an R1 in full that I tried to see what a 4 cylinder could give. Long live Italian bi. Rating : 5/5

Hello everyone, I've switched from the Z1000 to my dream 2004 RSV 1000 R. At first, it's hard to get used to the twin because it has a crazy engine brake, but as soon as you get the hang of it, it's a beast with a crazy reach. As for power at full throttle (like me), it's more than enough, because who can boast of using their machine to the full every day? Long live APRILIA. Rating : 5/5
French picj Model 2004
i find the new rsv sublime, nothing to throw away! i had an rsv 2000 with which i did 56,000kms, and it's a real bullet and nikel in terms of reliability. on the other hand, I don't agree with the other Internet users about the price: the RSV is no more expensive than a Japanese bike, and having had a blast with an unbridled R1, I can assure you that it works just as hard. In fact, after that blast, I had a chat with the guy and he was green: he didn't think an Italian twin worked as hard as it did. I saw him again 9 months later, and by chance he'd sold the R1 and bought an RSV!

I ride a Japanese twin, and I'd like to acquire this machine, which for me is a pure marvel, engine, chassis, looks; the only big HIC is its price
the Italian price is a real barrier to trade. Too bad! Where is Europe! A BON ENTENDEUR
Rating : 5/5
French youbel Model 2004
it's really a bike: pure form, design and performance, but it's better to take the factory version: Brembo brakes, Öhlins shock absorbers and carbon fork-heads (made of plastoc for the rsv r)...etc... In any case, down with the Japanese!!!!! long live the European ones (and especially the Italian ones (even if they're expensive)) Rating : 5/5
French van van Model 2004
I'd like to say well done to APRILIA, which has the merit of offering an alternative to the world of Japanese cars!!!! Ok it doesn't make 200CH and 200KGS but from you to me, having already been on the track, power isn't everything !!!! Tres tres belle machine et qui marche. Best wishes for the future to the brand.... Rating : 5/5
French slider Model 2004
This new RSV 1000 R is pure beauty. For years now, I've been riding a twin (the TL 1000 S) that's been decried by the press, and to this day, it's the only bike that makes me want to sell mine and buy it. It may not be the ultimate weapon compared to the latest Japanese 1000cc, but it's not its niche either. Rating : 5/5
French Nzbaa Model 2004
Having seen this original bike, nothing to say, it's beautiful. However, the rear end really needs to be reworked, with those big lights, because it's very special and not very discreet :S Rating : 5/5
French alexbarros Model 2004
Fuck!!!! She's beautiful, especially in red. It's a bombshell with a look like hell, a heart like thunder, a sound like hell... You get the idea, I'm madly in love with this bike. Rating : 5/5
French JERRYKEN Model 2004
I myself, who own the 2004 and had the 2003, find the machine to be improved in every respect, mechanically speaking. Now, in terms of the monster's face, Aprilia has made serious progress. The 2004 RSV is not a motorcycle that can be compared with any other, but if you want a war machine, you have to pay the price, just like everything else in life. Rating : 5/5
French Slayer Model 2004
just one problem, the design of the Aprilia has been copied too much from that of the Honda VTR 1000 Sp-1 and Sp-2,I find that it takes away from the progressiveness of Aprilia's design.otherwise it remains a beautiful bike with a big heart,a nice little twin, but the price frankly needs to be reviewed... Rating : 5/5
French Vinc'S Model 2004
I'm only 15 and I own an aprilia RS 50. I think it's a splendid bike, and when I'm old enough, have the licence and the money, I'll buy one for myself. The only problem is the power of the twin at full throttle, which doesn't exceed 140bhp, compared with over 160bhp for Japanese 4-leggers (e.g. R1, ZX10R, CBR1000RR, etc.) Rating : 5/5
