presentation of the 1100 TUONO V4 Factory 2022
Initiated by the mutinous RS 660, Aprilia's new identity has invaded all the leading models in record time. For those who like to bend corners with their V4s, the Noale-based company is evolving its wicked roadster with a dual proposition: the Tuono and its Factory version. A pair of highly efficient fire engines that won't let the competition have an easy time of it.
More threat than daring! The Tuono V4 Factory is no laughing matter. The line has been modernized with the necessary subtlety to retain its genes and take on the impetus of a new generation. With its refined, light-ringed eyes and rabbit-like quenches under the nose, this roadster's face looks like a were-rabbit in need of adrenalin. Since the previous model, the hoof has taken on volume, the stern aggression, and the shoulders a new importance. They contain a mini squadron of winglets, THE fashionable goodie. Aerodynamics has taken on such a strategic role (technically and commercially) that winglets can now be found on sports bikes and hyper-roadsters alike.

If the Tuono V4 std has moved towards a certain condescension, the Factory model remains radical, highly sporty and sickly jealous. It loves only its rider and muscular dynamism. For this, it relies on its formidable engine. The 4-cylinder, 65° V-twin remains at 1077 cm3 - although the new RSV4s benefit from a slightly higher-displacement version. Yet the roadster was the first, in 2015, to deploy a souped-up transposition of the V4. Now, it seems, the sporty machine is enjoying new privileges.
The Euro5 standard has succeeded in strangling the engine's pollutant emissions, but not its power. It remains at 175 hp, perched just a little higher; at 11,350 rpm instead of 11,000. Torque remains unchanged, at a generous 12.3 mkg.

Added to the already strong electronics package of the previous generation, with traction control, Up&Down shifter, ABC active cornering, anti-wheeling, anti-stoppie, Launch Control, pit lane speed limiter and cruise control.
And let's not forget the most important thing, to which electronics must be accountable: the body. Everything comes from the new RSV4. The large 330 mm discs are tortured by Brembo M50 4-piston radial calipers. Aprilia has yet to give in to Stylema, unlike its overpowered Ducati rival.
Aprilia is one of the best performers in the difficult task of adding an attractive muffler. On both sides of the globe, the models vary from imposing to ugly to poorly integrated. On the Tuono and RSV4, the result is more harmonious than its predecessor, almost elusive but inevitably corpulent.
The Tuono V4 Factory is no longer the segment leader in terms of pure data. Speed Triple, Superduke, Z h2, 1000 Brutale and Streetfighter V4 have eaten their way to the front. But the Aprilia can count on a crazy chassis with exceptional limits. Pure sport.
