oK - It's hard to tell the 2008 version of the Adventure from the 2007. BM has focused on optimizing the capabilities of this big intercontinental trail bike rather than on its physical appearance. The overall look is a little more muscular, but overall, the change is less obvious than on the standard 1200 GS.

most of the work has gone into the engine and suspension. The flat twin has gained 5hp, while the gearbox has a better shift feel, a tighter second gear and the option of a shorter 1st gear. The result is more punch and better acceleration for this big, uncluttered machine.

the Adventure is destined to wade between rocks and slush, and inevitably to get stuck in between 2 ruts sooner or later. It protects its mill and its surroundings with a steel tank, engine and rocker cover structure.

to go far, long, carefree and adaptable, the GS Adventure is equipped with a 33-liter fuel tank, allowing (according to the manufacturer) almost 750 km at 90 km/h, a height-adjustable seat peaking at 895 mm, a large windshield, and the various adaptations mentioned below.

on the chassis fronte note that the suspension is 20 mm higher than that of the GS, and above all that it benefits, like the GS, from ESA Enduro suspension (optional). At the touch of a button, this system
springs and shock absorbers to suit different conditions of use and loads. The ESA Enduro also distinguishes between several on- and off-road modes, within which the rider can choose between different spring preload and damping laws to adapt his bike even better to the specific requirements encountered.

you have to admit that, looking at this picture, you immediately feel like conquering the Sahel, judging the banks of a South American river or crossing the Agriate desert. It's tempting and possible - but to have a machine as well-equipped as the one you see above, consider that it's been through the options and accessories box.
