presentation of the SS 100 Bert le Vack 2021
Like everyone else, the S.S. 100 had to adapt to Euro 5. This has led to a number of technical modifications. Brough Superior took the opportunity to fine-tune its prestigious model, and to produce an ultra-limited special edition. No more than 9 examples, bearing the name of the English racing driver Bert le Vack.
It takes a keen eye to distinguish this version. More chrome, a grey titanium finish, shorter Sports Slash Cut exhausts and titanium open-work tank straps. The result is a beautiful, sensual effect. The real homage lies between the filler caps. A Bert le Vack signature, the serial number and a World Record crest take us back to 1924.
For the factory to attach this name to such a limited series, the character must have had an oh-so-important place in Brough's history. Who is this Herbert "Bert" le Vack? And why 1924?
That's the year this pilot-engineer-preparator set 9 world motorcycle speed records. All the more reason to elevate his status to that of a legendary pilot.
A few years later, he reached 129.07 mph (207.71 km/h) on a Brough Superior 985 cm3.
The man also exercised his talent in the preparation of motorcycles and racing engines. He worked with Daimler, Indian, JAP, Motosacoche... Until his tragic end in 1931. But when you see this S.S. bearing his name, you know he'll never disappear for Brough Superior.
