presentation of the 1100 Multistrada V4 RS 2024

The Multistrada V4 RS ate a Panigale V4 SP2! There's no other explanation for such a machine. How else to define this Multistrada, the sportiest, most sophisticated and most exclusive ever created by the Bologna-based manufacturer? Even more advanced than the Pikes Peak, and ever closer to the extreme.

Produced in numbered series, the Multistrada V4 is equipped with the Desmosedici Stradale engine, derived from the Panigale V4; while the whole family is powered by the Granturismo version, with more cubage but a less sporty temperament.

Thanks to a V4 equipped with desmodromic valve timing, the Multistrada V4 RS offers unique performance and riding sensations, maintaining the balance that has always distinguished the family. The experience is made memorable by the inimitable sound of the Desmosedici Stradale with dry clutch and Akrapovic silencer, as well as by the fiery and exciting deployment of power. These sensations are also guaranteed by the chassis of the sportiest Multistrada in the family, with Öhlins suspension, aluminum swingarm and forged wheels.

Discerning riders will appreciate the technical and styling details that make this bike unique in terms of personality and substance. The RS logo, which has become a true defining element of the model, was designed by Centro Stile and can be found in the livery, on the key and in the dashboard graphics. The slim, streamlined rear end, designed exclusively for this bike, makes it even sportier.

Ducati 1100 Multistrada V4 RSthe Multistrada V4 RS is a model in which every component, every detail - from the radar-equipped electronics package to the ultra-light titanium rear frame - has been chosen with a single objective in mind: to create the sportiest touring motorcycle ever. The most exciting Multistrada ever created by Ducati.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS combines the inimitable lines of the Multistrada, elegant and dynamic, with technical solutions reminiscent of the technologies used in racing, typical of Borgo Panigale's hypersport motorcycles. The name RS has exactly this meaning, recalling another motorcycle in Ducati's history - the Monster S4 RS - born of the same inspirational principles.

The various carbon fiber components, such as the front mudguard, handguards (designed specifically for this model), heat shields and front "beak", create a play of contrasts with the Iceberg White livery, enriched with various references to the color of the Desmosedici MotoGP.
The slim, lightweight techno-polymer rear integrates the passenger grips and defines a sporty, sophisticated and inimitable side view. The titanium seat support frame is a technically elegant component that accentuates its sportiness and saves 2.5 kg in weight compared to the standard saddle.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is produced in a numbered series. The number is shown on a black anodized aluminum plate, featuring the Italian flag, applied to the upper fork crown.

The Multistrada V4 RS is the only member of the family to adopt the 1,103 cm3 Desmosedici Stradale engine. To combine the smoothness and regularity typical of the Multistrada with the personality and sporty characteristics of the Panigale and Streetfighter, Ducati has intervened on the V4, obtaining a smooth, fluid power curve at low revs and at the same time, thanks to desmodromic valve timing, exalting power close to the limiter. A personality that is also expressed in the exhaust note, which is deep at low revs and exhilarating like a Superbike when accelerating at high revs.
These objectives have been achieved by adopting the Panigale V4 R's air filter, which is more permeable and sportier, and an exhaust system with Akrapovic silencer developed specifically for the Multistrada V4 RS.

Ducati 1100 Multistrada V4 RS In this Euro 5+-approved configuration, the Desmosedici Stradale engine develops maximum power of 180 hp, with limiter at 13,500 rpm. This value was chosen to guarantee sporty performance while maintaining the balance that has always distinguished the Multistrada V4 since its first version.
To make the most of the performance of the Desmosedici road bike, which is sportier and features greater acceleration, the final gear has been shortened while keeping the transmission ratios unchanged.

Finally, as on the Panigale V4 SP2 and Streetfighter V4 SP2, the Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with a STM-EVO SBK aluminum dry clutch, with a specific spring configuration and smooth discs. This component, which softens the ride during braking and acceleration, also contributes to enriching the sound of the exhaust with its typical metallic timbre when the clutch is disengaged.
Among the advantages of the dry clutch is the possibility of boosting performance by using Ducati Corse Performance Powered by Shell Advance oil, the result of collaboration between Ducati Corse and Shell in Superbike and MotoGP.

To enhance thermal comfort, the Desmosedici Stradale has been designed to deactivate the rear dyno when the bike is stationary, in neutral and the engine temperature is above 70°. Also for greater comfort, on the coldest days, the ducts that channel cool air to the rider's legs can be closed.
The service interval for checking valve clearance on the Multistrada V4 RS is every 30,000 km.

The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with the advanced and sophisticated electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S, which includes, among other things, radar technology as standard front and rear, enabling the functionality of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Thanks to information provided by the Bosch inertial platform, the Multistrada V4 RS's electronic equipment includes 4 power modes (Full, High, Medium, Low), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up&Down.

All these systems have been calibrated for the model's characteristics and intended use, and integrated into four riding modes: Race, Sport, Touring and Urban.
On the V4 RS, Full Power mode (associated by default with Race mode, characterized by a chequered flag above the name) is introduced for the first time in the Multistrada family; it delivers maximum power in all gears, with rapid throttle response. The other power modes have been calibrated for use on the Multistrada V4. In particular :
- High (associated by default with the Sport driving mode) offers maximum power in 4th, 5th and 6th gears, with a slight reduction in torque in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and rapid throttle response.
- Medium (default Touring driving mode) also offers maximum power in 4th, 5th and 6th gears, with a slight reduction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but with a smoother throttle response.
- Low (associated by default with urban driving mode) with power reduced to 84 kW (114 hp) and a smooth throttle response.
The Multistrada V4 RS also features three levels of EBC (Engine Brake Control), allowing the rider to customize engine braking to suit riding style and context.

Ducati 1100 Multistrada V4 RS The enhanced sportiness of the V4 RS's electronics package is underlined by the new dashboard graphics, which feature a control panel on the main screen with similar functionality to the Infomode Track on the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4. This drop-down menu displays the levels set for DTC, ABS and DWC in the selected riding mode. In addition, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control intervention is highlighted by the flashing of the corresponding drop-down item and illumination of the upper right-hand corner of the instrument panel.
The TFT instrument panel with 6.5" display, characterized on the Multistrada V4 RS by dedicated graphics, lets you view the GPS navigator thanks to Ducati Connect, which allows you to mirror your mobile device. Precisely to support this functionality, the smartphone compartment features forced ventilation, to cool the phone during intensive use of navigation functions and while charging.

The chassis of the Multistrada V4 RS is developed around the 17-inch front wheel, which ensures great precision and responsiveness during sporty riding. This choice led to the choice of a different aluminum monocoque frame from that of the Multistrada V4 S and Rallye, in order to obtain a different inclination of the steering column (25.75° vs. 24.5°) defining caster angle and wheelbase values in line with the bike's greater sportiness, as already done on the V4 Pikes Peak.

Marchesini forged-aluminum wheels, 2.7 kg lighter than those on the V4 S, enhance the bike's dynamic handling. Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tires, in 120/70 at the front and 190/55 at the rear, offer excellent grip under acceleration and a strong sensation of grip with the ground.

The choice of Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspensions guarantees the best performance in sports use, thanks to the use of an "event-based" system, as on the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S, which self-adjusts according to riding style. The system, already used on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, has been recalibrated to achieve the best balance between comfort in relaxed riding and support in sporty riding.
In Touring and Sport modes, the calibrations of the dynamic system have been particularly modified to improve comfort during normal riding and, at the same time, support during more playful riding on mixed mountain terrain. In addition, to improve driving dynamics even under full load, the compression hydraulics have been increased when the driver selects higher damping levels in the different driving modes, in the different load modes with luggage and passenger.

Ducati 1100 Multistrada V4 RS The braking system is directly derived from that of the Panigale V4. At the front, the system features 330 mm-diameter discs and Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, similar to those on the Multistrada V4 S, with the addition of Panigale V4 brake pads. At the rear, the system consists of a single 265 mm-diameter disc fitted with a Brembo floating caliper. The drive, with regressive kinematics, has a smaller pumping element, which improves power and modulation. The system is managed by the Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME Cornering ABS.

In addition to the carbon fiber and titanium elements, a small battery has been adopted to further reduce weight. This saves 3 kg compared to the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak.

The new V4 RS offers sportier ergonomics than the Multistrada V4, with footrests set higher and further back to increase maximum angle grip. The handlebars, rigidly attached to the upper fork crown for improved feel, are lower, narrower and less curved. The new, softer grips have a sportier design.

This ergonomic combination translates into improved sport riding sensations, while maintaining a good level of comfort. Great attention has been paid to comfort, in order to maintain the best synthesis between sport and touring on the Multistrada V4 RS.

The bike will be available in Ducati dealerships from January 2024 in a single version. It will include front and rear radar as standard, and will be priced at 37,790 euros incl. VAT. Ouch!

French Model 2024
Yes, it's beautiful and powerful and exclusive and.... Ect ect But I know I'm not being soft, but if we're content with just the figures... More than 10,000 euros more expensive than the M1000XR for 20hp less.... And it's even more expensive than a Goldwing tour ... no, I think it's going out of style.... comrades -_-'and at that price I think those who can afford it would like something a little more exceptional, I imagine! I'll stay a spectator, I don't have nearly 40000 euros to spend on a motorcycle, alas. Rating : 4/5
French Model 2024
Superb, exclusive machine, as Ducati knows how to do! It's not a trail bike but a hyperhypermotard! with a whole bunch of electronic stuff!!!. Too bad, I'm just a poor guy riding a 600 ttr. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2024
A beautiful bike, but one that costs an arm and a leg. Is it really appropriate to continue with the multistrada? With these tires, there's little chance of off-road riding. Riding in the rain is also a nightmare. Will the overpowered engine withstand 1000km of riding in one day at 30C? Rating : 5/5
