presentation of the Multistrada V4 RS 1100 2026
In the category of big, mean sporty trails, Ducati had entered the fray with the Mutistrada Pikes Peak. With the passage of time and the competition, the need arose for something stronger, more powerful and more efficient. Thus was born the cross between a Panigale and an MTS: the Multistrada V4 RS.
A quick glance at the technical data would lead you to believe that only 10 horsepower separate the road-going versions from this racy variation. But in reality, the engine block is different. It's the "Stradale" V4, with less torque and displacement than the "Granturismo", but with more rage, more nerve, more "pistard". Logical, given that it's the engine used on the Panigale and Streetfighter.
180 horsepower are revved up to 12,250 rpm, backed up by 12 mkg (high) perched at 9,500 rpm. Totally unreasonable wattage for a machine in this category, except that the electronics keep a close eye on things - we're not all vibrators. For this evolution, the Multistrada V4 RS boosts on-board assistance with the very latest DVO system, introduced on the last-generation Panigale V4.
Plus 2026: DVO, deco and new rims.
DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) is an algorithm that simulates a large amount of dynamic data, as if 70 sensors were informing it of the various phases and consequences of riding. This makes it predictive and enables even finer calibration of steering aids (DTC, DWC, ABS cornering, etc.).
The shifter is also improved, while braking becomes combined. The action can be split between front and rear depending on the efficiency calculated by the electronics.
The suspension laws have also been refined for even better results.

The Multistrada V4 RS 1.1 therefore takes advantage of this new vintage to fine-tune its dynamism by borrowing ideas from the Superbike range. It's fair to say that it can happily go in that department, as it seems to have been born there. With its formidable Brembo Stylema calipers on 330 mm discs, superb swingarm, forged Marchesini aluminum wheels, titanium Akrapovic rear frame and exhaust, Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 steered suspension, lithium-ion battery, techno-polymer rear fairing (designed specifically for this model) and carbon parts (front mudguards, handguards, heat shields, front lip), it wouldn't look out of place in a paddock.
As the RS is a very recent model, this update is accompanied by a slight styling evolution, without going back to basics. The red-and-white color scheme has been replaced by a grayish hue, the rims have been redesigned (as on the Diavel V4 RS), and the result is as retina-shredding as ever.
Among other improvements, the rear loop can now support a top-case. Hard to imagine on this high-on-legs rocket.
Still produced in numbered series (but without limitation), the Multistrada V4 RS is the only one in the family to receive desmodromic valve timing, an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch and "Full" power mode to send maximum watts through all gears.

Plenty of horsepower (but still not enough to challenge the BMW M 1000 XR), a top-level chassis, premium parts... what else can you find on a Ducati of this calibre? A heaping helping of riding aids and technological comfort elements. We've seen some of them in the previous lines; let's make a complete list:
- 5 riding modes
- 4 power modes
- Traction control
- Engine brake control
- Wheelie control
- Hill-start control
- Speed control (adaptive cruise control)
- Boot tightening control (oh no, that's from Back to the Future 2)
- ABS cornering
- Shifter Up & Down
- Radar system
- Forward collision warning
- Blind spot detector
- Adaptive cornering light
- Semi-active suspension
- Keyless start
- Automatic tire calibration
- 6.5" TFT color display
- GPS navigation
- USB port
The spaceship that landed on the moon had 10 times less electronics. And despite all that and the choke price, heated grips and a hands-free fuel filler cap are optional.
Trekking gear with sliders
The Multistrada V4 RS is the sportiest of the family. So much so, in fact, that it almost refuses to say hello to them when you see them on the other side of the fence when it's on the track. A little more efficient than its predecessor, it's aimed at driving enthusiasts who also want to be able to ride for long periods in comfort. The price has gone up a little, and major service intervals are shorter (30,000 km instead of 60,000 on other MTS V4s). But at this level, you can't even be too careful, given that the purse has caught fire.
