presentation of the Monster SP 2025
An engine, two wheels, handlebars. That's the simplest definition of a motorcycle. Add to the recipe an eye-catching face and you have the first Monster. Fast forward to the 4th generation and you'll see a complete overhaul of the original concept. Now add top-of-the-range suspension, cracking exhausts and a dollop of sportiness, and you've got a crackling Monster SP right out of the oven.
Never before has a Ducati roadster been given this name. S, yes, in a number of variations; R; dark; Matrix ; Rs. ..The monster seeks to offer more than its best, bewitched by the exceptional nature of other members of the family. The Panigale V4 SP and Streetfighter V4 SP have set the bar extremely high in their categories.
In short, he wants sport, thrills on the kneecaps and elbow-scratching curves. The bike's styling, largely inspired by that of the GP Desmosedici, also features a small windscreen, steering damper, envy-red saddle, matching seat cover and lithium-ion battery to spice up the preliminaries. This subtracts 1.7 kilos from the machine's overall weight.
But of course, what it shows off most is the promise of great riding and fun.
Like all top-of-the-range Monsters, the Monster SP is fitted with Öhlins. These are fully adjustable, unlike the standardsuspension. The 43mm-diameter NIX 30 inverted fork and shock absorber can not only be fine-tuned in terms of efficiency, but also offer an additional 10mm of travel. With 140 and 150mm of travel, the suspensions offer a little more ground clearance and a greater maximum angle; to add to the road feel and typically Öhlins quality. The fork also contributes to the revs, with 600 gr less than the Kayaba on the other Monster.

Here, it's expressed a little more fully, with the throttle evacuated through a Termignoni titanium and carbon twin muffler. A little do-it-yourself (it's forbidden) would restore the twin-cylinder's dry, cavernous rumble.
In the case of a compelling need for more power, it's a good idea to consider the Streetfighter V2 - with a stronger, sharper Panigale engine, 14 kilos more weight and a bigger cheque.
A desire for performance also means improved braking capabilities. The Stylema calipers, the Brembo benchmark that equips the majority of hypersports and hyper-roadsters, have got the job done. Their formidable strength and feel are particularly appreciated when entering corners with a vengeance. These jaws save a further 400 grams, while the aluminum flanges of the 320 mm discs in turn save 500 grams.
The overall weight of this SP, including battery, braking system and fork, is 3.2 kgs. Yet the bike's TPF weight drops by just 2 kgs, to 186 units. Non capito..
The Monster SP has the electronic benefit of a specific calibration of its Riding Modes, to make it sportier. A new "Wet" mode joins "Sport" and "Road" *. All the dynamics are ordered according to traction control, wheeling, standing start, active ABS in corners, Up&Down shifter... and above all, how far the rider wants to twist the handlebars and grips. Between the grip, the intelligence of silicon and the road, the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubber adds a notch of efficiency.
Everything is controlled from the 4.3" color TFT screen. Despite its positioning and asking price, Ducat' doesn't even offer multimedia connectivity via Bluetooth, which is always optional.
Newcomers to the pack will be pleased to know that the SP will be available in an A2 version. It's an exciting Bolognese, and you'll have to pay for it... handsomely.

Sport - The engine delivers 111 hp and direct Ride by Wire (RbW) throttle response, reduced DTC intervention and Level 2 ABS. Rear linkage control is moderate. DWC wheeling control is set at a level that favors sporty driving.
Road - The engine delivers 111 hp with a more progressive RbW response to throttle opening, greater DTC intervention and Level 3 ABS to ensure maximum braking stability and rear lift control. The DWC is set to an optimum level for relaxed driving.
Rain - The engine delivers 75 hp, with a particularly smooth RbW response to throttle opening for maximum safety on slippery surfaces, even greater intervention of the DTC system and Level 3 ABS to guarantee maximum braking stability and rear-heave control.
