presentation of the 999 R FILA 2003
may 18, 2003 was an important date for Ducati. On that day, on the Monza circuit, Neil Hodgson aboard a 999 F03 brought the Italian factory its 200th victory. Now more than ever, the brand is ensuring its grip and success on this highly competitive world championship. To celebrate this 200th success in the Superbike championship, Ducati is presenting a special series of its 999 R: 200 Fila-badged models in the colors of the Ducati SBK Team. Exuberant and highly successful, this is an exact copy of the Superbike machine. It retains the same chassis as the 999 R and its sumptuous equipment: inverted fork, rear monoshock and Öhlins steering damper adjustable in all directions, full carbon fairing, radial brake calipers, and meticulously dimensioned engine (104 * 58.8mm). For the "top-of-the-range" price, you get Marchesini forged aluminum rims from Ducati Corse with an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, a quasi-free exhaust system that saves 3 kgs in addition to power, a chip that gives more horsepower to the twin, a stand stand and a cover to protect this jewel. When's the road-going Desmosedici due?
