presentation of the Experia 2022
We didn't see this one coming. The first full-electric trail bike has arrived on the market - but it's not a major player who's responsible. Neither Honda nor BMW, nor any of the other brands that account for 90% of sales, are behind the EXPERIA. We owe this exclusivity to the small Italian manufacturer Energica. The same company that supplies the sportbikes in the MotoE championship.
After all, trail bikes are more fashionable than ever. So this is the place to be. But how to stand out from the crowd? No problem for the Expéria, the only one to be powered by electrons. The brand's eco-friendly approach is reflected in its "Green Tourer" moniker. Let's not reopen the eternal debate on the mitigated carbon footprint of E.V.s, but let's focus on what the Italian tourer has to offer.
First and foremost, power. The electric block delivers 80 hp continuously and 102 hp at peak. Torque is more convincing, at 11.7 Nm - the value of a good 1100 cc. That's less muscle than the manufacturer's other models. To better match the trail spirit?
Energica limits the top speed here to 180 km/h, but preserves the spirited acceleration: the Experia takes just 3.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h.
It' s important to note that this bike is a brand-new model, not only on the market but also for the manufacturer. It is not based on either the Eva roadster or the sporty Ego. The frame is a novel combination of aluminum plates and tubular steel trellis, as on the MV-Agusta. The motor and battery are also new and lighter. Maximum battery capacity is 22.5 kWh. A quick-charge station can recharge it to 80% in 40 minutes.
The Expéria boasts a touring range of up to 400 km. A record in itself, but one that needs to be put into perspective. For extra-urban driving, the range plummets to 208 km. This is about the same range as a conventional petrol model, but.... As always, it's a question of time spent at the pump, network coverage, etc...
And weight too. A battery is always very heavy. This machine weighs in at 260 kilos. But unlike Energica's more aggressive models, this weight is less of a shock and almost "normal" for this type of bike.

There's no shortage of equipment on the Expéria. In addition to an adjustable bubble and storage space in the false fuel tank with two USB ports, there's an impressive array of electronics, including a 5-inch TFT screen, 6-level traction control, active ABS when cornering, cruise control, 7 driving modes (Eco - Urban - Rain - Sport - 3 customizable), 4 levels of brake energy recovery, reverse gear and two further USB sockets near the dashboard.
The launch model, dubbed the "Launch Edition", will feature side cases and a top case for a total of 112 liters of storage space, as well as heated handles.
Orders for the Energica Expéria start in June, but it won't arrive until autumn. The advertised price is exclusive of tax - so, with 20% more here, the 30-plate mark has been passed.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 5 reviews
at the end of the day, I've eaten 40 euros worth of petrol, and in electric mode around 3 to 4 euros for the same 400km! recharging: you can charge the bike in 2 ways, either on a super charger (ccs direct current), in which case it's great and goes really fast (1h from 0 to 100%), but it's more expensive than slow charging (type 2 alternating current). well, that's not Energica's fault, but that of the power sellers who are gorging themselves!! and so the defect of the recharge is this slow charge which is 3kw and it's too slow a three-phase charger for at least 9kw would have made this bike the queen of electrics for travelers because even if the ccs chargers are more and more present they are still far from covering as well the territories as the type 2 chargers!
It's a real shame that Energica is in the doldrums because of crooked investors, the brand has filed for bankruptcy when it was really doing better than other brands and its sales were doing well! thanks to this investor, who benefits from the crime? zero? in any case not Europe! a brand that I dream of seeing revived.
in any case, yes, electric is expensive, but so is gasoline, and I'm not even talking about the revisions. I had saved for years in the bank, and the interest is ridiculous; I earn much more with my electric vehicle, and as for the pleasure of driving, well, it's there, all right. you have to try to understand ... See you all on the road! Rating : 4/5 Respond to steph0174
The pre-order form is signed tomorrow. I'll retest the Eva Ribelle in the meantime, but what machines!!!!
The price is too much... Gnagnagna : Compared to the excellent Ducati MSV4S - Radard fully equipped which is almost 3000€ less expensive: the difference is amortized in fuel over one year (I'm fat and a rider... and both too) and almost zero maintenance (Ducati is reliable, I've never said otherwise... well not often) !
But it's electric... Gnagnagna! 250km of autonomy for a cushy ride without polluting, that's more than my Q and bladder can handle in one go
The color: yes, gray isn't very Italian, we agree... but a good rosso corsa covering and voila!
