while the standard Road King takes you cruising on long highways with a less liner-like style than the Electra Glide, its Classic version takes on this mission with a more retro flavour. Even before you get on it, the charm takes effect. Chrome, whitewall tires, a large windshield with no fork head to weigh down the lines, leather panniers (rigid on the standard King) to carry a few items of luggage, a comfortable seat and a devastating look... no doubt about it, you're on one of these road-going vessels that are the pride of America. The wide handlebars, long running boards and large windscreen make for a senatorial ride. For purists who prefer the whip of the wind, it only takes a few moments to remove the windscreen, leaving the superb headlamp cowling and triple-lens facia in full view. The soft ride of the Road King Classic can also be enjoyed with the Twin Cam 88. The substantial weight limits the vigor of the 1449 cm3, but the engine is so endearing that all that remains is the pleasure of riding. There's no question of raising the pace, however, or you'll end up turning your sofa into a rodeo machine. This is Route 66, not the ranch. The Classic's restrained vibrations, velvety cruising feel and nostalgic silhouette will make you look good without forcing the pace.

I have a 2004, I made it to my 63 years, I enjoy it very much with group outings on Saturdays and already made long tours and we prepare more tours, the bike after maintenance repair to 80,000 km, in the house among other things that was done is to change the distriición by a Kit that came out later, clutch, alternator, rear tire, etc etc the bike is better than new, I was told that it is already to do about 100.000 Km. more, that if do the maintenance that corresponds every 8000Km change of oils and tires brake pads etc, now is discontinued and the original parts have to search and search, but, it is what it has is a classic and is my bike. 2004 model; after several 4-legged bikes (fzs600,1000;gtr1000;rf900r;xjr 1300 which I have and which I'll take back when this one gives up :160000 km) at 51 years old I fell for a 2004 rkc. it's a discovery, it's a heavy bike, but impressively easy to ride, and it's very fuel-efficient in touring mode. i've done the corrèze and cantal: great for cornering. I had to change my braking style compared to my xjr. In 10 months I've done 8500 km. I should have come to it earlier. Rating : 5/5

The 1450 is much smoother than the 1340, but a little less comfortable (shorter suspension)
The handlebars are a heresy to replace those of the normal RK, as is the saddle
Fuel consumption as ridiculous as ever.
