presentation of the 1690 STREET GLIDE SPECIAL FLHXS 2016
Travelling on a Street Glide is about to get a whole lot more exciting with this Special model. Harley raises the level of equipment on its very popular Touring without encroaching on Electra territory. A delicate balance that Davidson handles to perfection. The FLHX's identity has been totally preserved, and the little S added to the end of the name means an improvement in many small details, from the simplest - like the fairing skirt covered in the same color as the body - to the most entertaining, like the BOOM! Box 6.5 GT.
with the Rushmore project, the Street Glide gained a latest-generation multimedia console in version 4.3. Now it's the top-of-the-range H-D infotainment system that MoCO has installed on this machine. What really stands out is the large 6.5-inch touchscreen (hence the name), linked to a whole range of amenities. You can plug in your iPhone, MP3, SD card and other USB systems. On its own, the system has plenty to keep you busy: voice-activated phone functions, Bluetooth, GPS, radio, 75 watts per channel, and... The Twin Cam, you have to listen to it too, bazar!!!!
not yet Twin Cooled for the Street Glide, but more than enough to enjoy the Harley legend with High Output. Introduced in 2014 with the Rushmore upgrades, this Twin Cam retains the 1690 cm3 displacement but a specific camshaft and airbox enable it to develop more torque than the basic 103 ci. Not necessarily powerful for its displacement, the twin-cylinder engine delivers 14 mkg of torque very early on, with the unmistakable rumble of fat American metal.
Damping now benefits from the rear low-air suspension. In 2014, the technical package had already evolved with a 49 mm fork and coupled Reflex brakes. The Street Glide Rushmore is now equipped with dual halogen headlights, a "One-touch" opening/closing system, cruise control, Batwing fairing with air vents, enlarged panniers, more ergonomic controls, etc...
Success always comes at a high price, but this Street Glide Special is sure to keep the charm going.
