from 2006 to 2026Street Glide - An Electra for light touring.
The Street Glide is the archetypal bagger. It's based on the big Electra Glide tourer, but with less equipment, a lighter forkhead and fewer kilos to make it a lighter version of the road bike - 350 kilos nonetheless. Its first vintage was powered by the Twin Cam 88 ci / 1450 cm3. The 96 arrived the following year, with slightly more watts, more power and a 6-speed gearbox.
The chassis underwent a major overhaul in 2009, before the engine's displacement was increased in 2012 with the 103.
2014 brings a significant styling evolution with the Rushmore project, the Boom Box infotainment system and more power with the High Output evolution of the TC 103.
In 2015, the Street Glide has hot-rod ambitions. Its suitcases lower their cheeks for a more stylish look. This is also the version that will receive the new Milwaukee Eight engine in 2017. The Street Glide std returned to the range the following year, then disappeared from the catalog once again, while the Street Glide Special received the 114 ci version of the M8.
Electronics come into their own in 2020, at a surprisingly high level for a touring Harley. The Street Glide offers traction control, engine torque regulation, hill-start assist, cornering ABS, tire pressure monitoring and coupled braking.
The Street Glide CVO strikes a blow in 2023 with a new face, confusing for purists, and an engine topping out at 2 liters. Immediately afterwards, the Street Glide 2024 picked up this modernized face, more electronics and the M8 engine in its 117 definition.
